A Confusing Time Travel Movie?! NO WAY!! Umm...Hmm...Well...No. Let me try again. There's...no wait. Ok. This movie is really confusing. I don't know how to begin or even how to describe it or even how to review it. So I'll just list some facts. There's a bunch of engineers named Abe, Aaron, Robert, and Phillip. Robert and Phillip disappear about 10 minutes into the movie and reappear at the end. Abe an Aaron build some sort of machine that's suppose to do something but they end up building a time machine. But it's not a regular time machine. This is the part that's hard to explain. How it works is you set up the machine, then leave and hide for six hours, return, get in the box, sleep for 6 hours, and you're in the past. And that's what Abe and Aaron do. For mostly the entire movie. Then it gets a little crazy when at a party they went to some guy pulls out a shotgun. Aaron decides to go back and stop the shotgun maniac. Then there's a sequence where Abe and Aaron's past selves get drugged and they relive their days and this pretty much continues for another 25 minutes into the movie, which gets kind of boring and I lost interest. Now don't get me wrong, I like time travel movies. I been watching movies and reading books about time travel since I was about 8 and I think I know everything there is on the subject. And this movie sort of handles the dangers of it, like paradoxes. A paradox is when something keeps happening over and over where it just goes into one big gigantic loop and the universe just can't keep up with it, therefore, ka-blooey! Which is why in time travel movies they say to never run into your past self or talk to it or make any major changes. And pretty much these dopes in this movie kind of break this rules, which is why I think the movie got confusing around the time when this guy they know named Granger was following them and he was looking kind of rough. They get curious as to why he was following him so they call his house and he answers. So the conclusion is this Granger following them is a future Granger and they, nor us, know why he's following them. Then towards the end Abe and Aaron have a big fight at an airport and Aaron talks to some French dudes and the movie just sort of ends. Oh yeah, there's a narrator who is probably Aaron's future self but that wasn't totally clear. And there is a shitload of scientific talk. Oh and the movie is only like 70 minutes long and it is extremely independent. It was at a bunch of film festivals. And my girlfriend suggested it. So overall, it's an ok movie, and you probably need to watch it like 5 or 6 times to understand it all. Or do like me and cheat and read what people thought of it on imdb.com. Them some smart people. 2 stars. To figure out what the hell is going on in this movie, check out the message boards on IMDb.com. The one labeled "Speculations, answers, its all here..." gives a pretty clear cut explaination.
