For all those runners who enjoy competition. Tom Dannan and I have a little running war taking place before your own eyes. The competition is who can run races, and win with the better time. So far in this 2001/2002 track season we have raced against each other twice. 1st: At the open 1600 at the Interscholastic Invite. "I" won, 4:55-5:07,. 2nd: The 4x800 (first leg) at the Fred K. relays and "I" beat Tom by about 6 seconds but Tom had a race earlier on in the day, which made me believe that he was tired.....
However Tom ran a 4:55 mile at Darmouth. So far this track season, I have also ran a 4:55 mile, but I know I can improve a great amount, because in my last track season which was outdoor in 9th grade I pulled off an easy 4:57. Tom says that his 4:55 mile comes out to about a 4:53 1600m and believes he's only getting faster, but in the process I am too..........The real question is, who is really better. Well now to update our status. At the current John Arcaro meet at Manley Tom and I had another battle to see whose faster. This time it was the first leg of the 4x800. We both doubled up (Me-2:07 800m, Tom-10:03 3000m) erlier that night. In the 4by800 I ended ended up at 2:14 and Tom was 2:18. Tom thinks he can catch me, but im seriously not stopping anytime soon to let him. |
