Pure Stupor Tour 2004 (West Coast Edition)

Wayne Brady...

Today we got to that Wayne Brady taping (in time!) only to be, to use the jargon, T.A. [turned away] ..but instead were offered as consolation that being all over 18years we could attend Craig Kilborn's show at 4pm [instead of 2pm Wayne B.] To kill time we went around to Melrose and visited shops, procurred dangling red&orange earrings. At the coffee shop GD fan said "let's get drinks!!" [I'm paraphrasing probably..] , Aussie GD fan and I ordered DRINKS [iced vanilla capp. latte] and GD fan ordered...food [See, Soup & Cheesecake story in Beverly Hills..]

Aussie GD fan and I were THRILLED with the unexpected schedule change , it was practically amazing..I took out my contacts, Aussie GD fan put them in her gorgeous eyes [after proper cleansing?] and Craig looked enough like Eric to be jolly good fun for a few hours. JK. Actually, it was fun [look for us tonight at 12:35am?] and a bit crazy, CK seemed charming, if not exactly interactive. The guests were; Dave Navarro[sp?] -who GD fan wanted a hug from, and barely missed--if she had just moved towards him or flicked an eager eye at, really any movement- latent passive agressive desires?-- when he ran up in the aisle to flirt during the tape break, Nora Gaye and Gary Cole [actor, did a "student-Teacher film" that is known to Sprouty..] All the guests were good, lovely.

The warm up guy outed Aussie GD fan and myself and GD fan --the row behind us was filled with rowdy men from MA [Boston?] who have a band called "Scratch Track" [search for scratchtrackmusic.com?, They have a site], the audience had many out of state visitors and by chance my seat mates on the other side were from Toronto. There was even a dance contest, it was amusing, although it didn't hold a candle to the Out of Order/New Radicals ES dance of last night, which left myself and Aussie GD fan as GD fan would spake.."dead and pregnant." GD fan snoozed thru the dance [almost..]

As we left the studio GD fan asked a man "Does this show go to Australia?" He replied that he didn't know, likely it did but he didn't know the schedule and then [unasked] gave Our GD fan that night's shows script. Yah, souvenir script! It's interesting. Leaving the parklot we approached another man [who'd organized the pre-warm up]-Jay- said hi and asked if he wanted to sign the script..he said " me" followed by us learning he's an actor in an upcoming indie film "Ben and Thomas" [he hopes will do FF circuit]. He looked a mix of ES/Clay/Ryan Seacrest????? ..he wrote "Thanks Ladies, Love You!" We read what he wrote more than once?

We were out of the show about 7:30pm and decided since we had the address and it was in the neighbourhood to stop by Dimitri's house. It was cold outside, etc. As we zoomed towards the house and onto the street we reverently noted [GD fan did] that "in your eyes" came on the radio [from Say Anything. It had been a dream for MANY twoppers that Eric show up at their house with a boombox playing that very song..] We gazed up at where he slept and pondered bad things we could/would do. The house was WONDERFUL. We took some snaps and GD fan had an "Alexa" moment . The "Beige Brigade" had a Honda Hybrid moment. Aussie GD fan had a suspiciously similar zip up jacket/what on earth is she wearing- ha.ha- moment, etc. I leaned into "The Bush", etc. You sort of had to be there... It was a nice full circle moment for fans of the show, very touching. Truly so.

Btw, the house is for sale. Aussie GD fan duly noted the agency and talked about her cheque book.

We drove home [sweet home.] to the soundtrack of "Heart of Glass" and Flock of Seagulls..stopped at Coco's for a late dinner just before home [pondered just WHY boats would be on sale when only thing nearby was a private lake and an aqueduct, also the merits of marriage/non- marriage arrangements, children, pets, Celine vs Olivia N-J and were very K&S/Mr.J in discussion flow..

We are now pyjama clad [My top says "I feel the need for speed" . GD fan in baby blue and Aussie GD fan in a wind cheater!]

Party on!!
