Seeds In Words, Words In Soil   #3

G's and Z's Live #1

The evening was kicked off by local comedian/rapper, Swaff Master J, who began the evening sharing humorous aspects of his life.  The crowd, received him well, laughing at his sharing, as he helped all relax and enjoy the evening.  Then, he spit some lyrics, to give honor a praise to His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Swaff MasterJ is a very skilled lyricist, as well as being able to beat box, and scratch with his mouth.

After SwaffMasterJ, Rev. Johnny (Spiritual Sunglasses S2) read an old but familiar piece called Radio Tower.  Radio Tower is a piece that uses the symbolism of a Radio station to highlight the communication and relationship aspect of the Christian walk.  In this piece, God resides as a great D. J. who communicates to His listeners through a Radio, which represents the Holy Spirit, by way of a Radio Tower, which symbolizes the Cross, and a producer named J.C. Cross, who makes the show possible.

Mvc-474s.jpg (30921 bytes)S2 was followed by Shelondra (who's sir name will go unnamed).  Shelondra took to the mic with style and grace.  Her style and voice, quickly tamed the crowed with her smooth mellow voice.  She began to open the window into her very existence, by sharing a quick piece.  She then followed with a piece  which challenged those present to take the trash out in their lives.  She challenged those present to grow and move forward to bigger and better things, knowing that they can and will make it.

Next, Poet Dee Light boldly presented to those present the Gospel in Poetic format.  Her melodious voice, captivated the audience and allowed for a smooth transference of the Gospel from anointed mouth to chosen ears.  Truly, Dee Light aimed to plant seeds in the lives of those present. Dee Light, challenged the audience to take strides forward in their relationship with Christ, knowing and trusting that He is waiting and making it possible for you

Rushing to the mic was the Prodigal Soul, searching for a home for the message placed on his heart.  He rambled off thoughts from his head, which haunted his very thoughts.  A once lost soul, now found revealed a powerful battle between darkness and light, revealing in a vivid way, the results of the conflict.  The message, powerful, the presentation, full of life, the recipient, left with insight, as Prodigal Soul breathed through the mic, as a flower releases oxygen into the air.

Floating to the mic, graciously, was the deep melodious voice of the Deep Blue See.  This young man floored the audience, as his physical presentation, exceeded everyone's vocal expectations.  Arising from the crowed, he shared two pieces about the relationships of his past, why they survived for a while and failed to last.  His heart was open deep for all to see, and the melodious flow rocked all into a comforting sleep, leaving minds open for the pouring of his thoughts and knowledge.  Deep Blue See was a pleasant surprise to the group.

Mvc-482s.jpg (24873 bytes)Keeping the Oil lit, Kellie Carter approached the mic with nervous energy, and presented to those presence true reality.  Not hiding the truth, or looking over the shame, Kellie addressed issues of Self Esteem and A Woman's Value, in such a way, that it was clear sure and confident in herself and the words that were birthed inside of her.  She closed her eyes and seemed to be a cup running over with words of wisdom, touching the lives of those in such a way, that it made a noticeable difference.

Mvc-486s.jpg (22882 bytes)Next, the audience saw a direct Contrast.  His presentation was angry to the naked eye.  Contrast, a local poet, presented the history of the African American, by starting at Genesis, moving through the Middle Passage, and then to the Modern Ghetto, saying things haven't really changed.  He compared African Americans to the Israelites, challenging all to return to their roots in Christ, and not taking things to chance.  He also addressed black on black crime and challenged the African American community to unite and bind together to do something powerful in the name of the Lord.

Then Soul Sister number One took to the stage and released a grove so smooth, that all were soothed, but the round sounds of sweet words, exuding from the mouth of NefJones.  NefJones presented a message of wholeness and growth, encouraging those present to truly get to know self, and through that achieve wholeness.  Her second piece continued the attack on self by encouraging one to look inwardly and do some cleaning out of stored up trash.

S2 ended the night by reading a piece called the Car Wash.  This piece compared humans to cars, which collect dirt and need to be cleansed.  To be completely cleansed, the poem suggest that the only way is through the Car Wash, which represents Christ.
