IFR Training - Session 28

November 19, 2003 -No big updates here today. I flew a few approaches in the simulator under my own navigation. It is different becuase normally in the MSP area, ATC will give you vectoring for any and all approaches unless otherwise requested.

The flight went like this:
KFCM to KSTP for the ILS 32, missed
Direct to WHISK and hold,
VOR-A into KMIC with a couple of holds in the pattern, missed

That was the end. I had a pretty good flight, but the sim is really hard to get used to. It handles much different than the plane and as a result, it did not go as well as I would have liked. Next week I haev a couple of flights scheduled and we are planning own doing our own navigation approaches probaly Buffalo and maybe one other. It will depend on what ATC will allow. The weather may become a factor though. It has been 50 degrees plus, but they are predicting 6-12 inches this weekend. Oh well, we have been lucky so far.

Until Next Time !!!!
