| Celebrities often say that it's difficult to find real friends in the entertainment industry because of the competition. But over the years, Mavis has managed to make some great life-long friends. Among them is her boyfriend Lawrence. According to newspapers, the two met in mid 1998 and got along famously. They kept their relationship quiet until late 1999 with the release of Mavis' new album. In front of press and media, Lawrence said to Mavis, "I Want Us To Be Together," which coincidentally was the title of Mavis' new album. |

| Valen & Mavis came to America in 1998 and spent months taking music classes together. They became very close and spend a lot of time together that DiDi (Mavis' mom) made Valen into her god-daughter... making her Mavis' god-sister. This works out for both of the girls because neither one had any siblings growing up. |
