Going CoCo - - - - - - - - - - By all accounts, the two greatest loves in the life of Julio Iglesias are selling records (over 220 million at the latest count) and pretty women (who's counting?). So it made perfect sense for the smooth Spanish crooner to team up with Taiwan's hottest young singer, CoCo Lee Wen, for his double-CD collection, My Life: The Greatest Hits. In the edition sold in the region, Iglesias does one of his signature songs, "When You Tell Me That You Love Me," with 23-year old Lee singing the part originally performed by Dolly Parton. Lee and Iglesias were brought together as their record label, Sony Music, felt that it could help nudge album sales in Asia. Their collaberation was electronically executed at first. Lee recorded her contribution from Taipei, while Iglesisas cut his in Madrid. But it seems they also got along well when they finally had a face-to-face. Earlier this month the two met when Lee went to Spain to shoot their music video. Iglesias, whose trademark song is "To All The Girls I've Loved Before," had this to say about Lee: "While I was happy to work with CoCo, until I met her I didn't imagine that she'd be so young and pretty." What did Lee think of 55-year old Iglesias? "He's such a charming 'uncle'." Ouch! - - - - - - - - - - |
