The field of aviation offers many careers. Companies large and small are all over the world and offer positions from factory work to engineering and test pilots. This page highlights what you should do to have a career in aerospace and aviation companies and the jobs they offer.



What You Should do to Work in Aerospace

Almost any career in aviation requires some kind of college degree. To be involved with any kind of engineering requires at least a Bachelor's and experience with computers and computer-aided design programs, like CAD. Most companies tell you what majors and coursework you should study. Mechanical Engingeering and Aerospace Engineering are preferred majors.

CessnaJobs.com has a lot of information on jobs during and after college. Notice all the information on recruiting and getting jobs with the company. Cessna makes some of the highest-selling private aircraft. Cessna is based in Wichita, Kansas, so many of their jobs are based there.

New Piper is based in Vero Beach, Florida. Their career site offers good descriptions of the jobs available.

Raytheon is a fairly large company and works on many military projects. They have jobs available all over the country. Some jobs are available in high security, government projects, working at the Pentagon. Their site also offers information on college internships.
