The Elementals vs The Clears
Season Spring, Year 1000
1. The Master of All Minds, an triple-mind elemental by the name of Thelon
Kyararo was captured by a group of Elemental Hunters and taken to Fara as a
prisoner, where he is currently being held.
2. Thelon's community, Bestiamens, realizes he has gone missing and quickly
guesses as to why. The Mind Masters of the community send out a warning and a
plea for help to the other Mind communities around the world, who contact all
their members to keep a sharp eye out for Thelon or any Clear hunters.
3. Many Mind types that were once under the influence of their Clear owners have
made a redoubled effort to free themselves. The freed Minds, in turn, are going
around to help free their compatriots and all of the once-bound elementals are
rising up in anger and hatred of their former Clear types. All this was incited
after the world-wide plea of the Mind Masters concerning their captive leader.
4. The group of Clears that captured Thelon sending a hunting expedition of 5
Clears and Thelon out to begin the march in amassing a small army. They begin in
Talen'sul where they capture a man and his wife, the start of what could prove a
very large collection.
5. While the Clear army marches on through Khelek, Ronduin, and the Beastlands,
the Mind army is busy clamoring at Ilyamen's gates, hoping to get more recruits
- little do they know that the Clear army is doing just that. A group of
adventurers - Amaro, Acqua, Talon, Alethia, Taurus, Calim, Tom, and Lessa -
catch wind of the location of the Clear army and tip off the Mind army. The
Minds now set their eyes east, towards the Great River.
6. After the Clear army finds out that the Minds have tracked them as far as
Ronduin, they head towards Athrug to ready for the inevitable battle. They send
a message to the Mind's army - Catch us if you can.
7. A gruesome and bloody battle took place in Athrug as the Minds and the Clears
clashed their forces together. PC, Silent was under control of the Clears at the
time and her brother, Collin, working for the Minds. After Silent's friend,
Ragalla, was slain, she attacked Collin. Collin knocked her out and made it look
like she was dead so she could be moderately safe, only to be killed by a water
elemental as he turned around. Hod showed up on the scene with wind type
Cynthara and the two Minds he was escorting, Dacia and Eadoin. The two Minds
split from their friends to join their comrades while Hod and Cynth fought
tenaciously. Cynthara did not survive the encounter, however, as a Storm type
make short work of her in a team attack with a water elemental. Before Hod could
follow her to the grave, a mysterious double-fire sign character - Loki - showed
up on the scene and saved him. The comments passed between the two, however,
hint at a bitter relationship. Calim, Lessa, and Tom decided provide the
distraction needed to draw the Clears away from Thelon. After teleporting into
their midsts and punching one out, Calim fled and the Clears pursued without
their prized three-sign Mind toy. Calim was knocked out swiftly from Thelon, and
in a fit of anger, Lessa started to attack the Clears. By that time, Alethia,
Talon, Taurus, and Acqua had used the cover fo all the confusion to steal Thelon
away. After the Clears realized they were bereft of their greatest defense, they
rallied some of their more mundane elementals together, who attacked Lessa and
Tom and Amaro. As the fighting continued, Thelon now out of the action, the
sheer numbers and tenacity of the Clear force completely decimated the Minds -
all of the Minds sacrificed themselves to hold the back end of their retreat,
but it was in vain. The PCs aside, only 5 members of the entire Mind force
survived, and only just barely. Thelon, however, has been recovered and thrown
off the affects of being a Clear slave.
8. After his liberation, Thelon returned to his home in Bestiamens. He sent out
a worldwide proclamation to ALL Mind types everywhere, with his own power and
the aide of his Council.
"I have a new understanding of the world now, my brethren. It is a dangerous,
cruel place - this is not news to anyone though. However, ten of our ranks have
died in the effort to free me from the Clear captors; that is an astronomical
amount considering how few of us there really are. Therefore, it is my decision,
that all Minds capable of doing so are to return to their homes and stay there.
The world is not safe for us, not until we've evolved to the point that a few
losses aren't a blow to our race as a whole. Travel must be granted permission
by your community Council members. Travel is to be restricted only to Force
Quests and between other communities. I am sorry that it is has come to this..
But alas, such is our plight."
Meanwhile, the Clear hunters that instigated this whole incident are debating on
whether they should turn back home with what remains of their army, or press on
and try to enslave greater nations.
Season Summer, Year 1000
1. The Clear Army has managed to sneak it's way across the continent to the
Khelek Crystalands. There, a representative speaks with the Ice leader Jokull on
matters of an alliance being formed. After much deliberation, Jokull agrees and
welcomes the Clear ones and their slaves into his home as plans are laid for the
future.
2. Rested and ready for action, the Clear army leaves Khelek for Talen'sul to
make good use of Lya's absence.
3. The Clear army sweeps through the town of Zephyr on their way for Talen'sul.
Finding a good supply of fresh slaves ripe for the picking, they crush the
defenses of the town and make this their base for the future attack on Talen'sul.
4. The forces of the Clear army split in two; one half stays in Zephyr to hold
the fort, while the other half goes to launch a half-hearted attack on Talen'sul.
Talen'sul's city walls hold strong against their captured Wind brethren, but
eventually the wall is breached. At almost that moment, though, Lord Shadow and
Lady Lya return to Talen'sul with a great amount of Storm types to reinforce
Talen'sul's army. Wary of their situation, the Clear types retreat back into
Zephyr to make plans.
Season Autumn, Year 1000
1. In an unexpected turn of events, one of the Storm types working under Lord
Shadow suddenly betrays him, catching the Leader unaware in a well planned
ambush. Beaten unconcious, Darkstorm took Lord Shadow to Zephyr where he
delivered the Leader to the Clears, as per a previous agreed arrangement. Once
again, the Clear types have a three-sign in their posession.
2. Shortly after acquiring Shadow, the Clears received a message that their ally
Jokull had secured a second toy for them. Armed with this news, and enthusiastic
over their increasing conquests, the Clears drain Zephyr of all able bodied Wind
slaves, including children, and leave the sick and elderly locked in a home as
they torch the village and leave it to burn. After marching to Khelek, it was
simply a matter of strolling in and taking Cascata for themselves, and handing
Jokull a cartful of children to be used as slaves for his people.
3. After pulling out of Khelek, the Clears made march back to the place of
origin - to Fara, in Lacuna. There, they disperse their newly acquired slaves
amongst their people, then settle in for a swift period of relaxation and more
careful planning.
4. Relaxation over, the original five Clears that started all of this gather
Shadow and Cascata, as well as fresh slaves and their Ice friends and march for
Ronduin. Meanwile, Thelon reaches Avani and convinced her to march to war with
the Earth types to join the rest of the elementals in their righteous cause.
Season Winter, Year 1000
1. Passing close to Fara on their way to Talen'sul proved too much of a
temptation for Thelon and Avani as they launched a sudden sneak attack on Fara -
whose people were still confident and cocky after the return of their 'heroes'.
Caught completely unawares by the seismic wave that ripped through the town, the
people made a very half-hearted attempt to fight back (those that were alive)
before fleeing for Lacuna. A great victory for the Elementals!
2. Meanwhile, the five Clear Slavers have marched with their army over the Great
River and into the heart of Ronduin. With the Water types caught unaware, and
with Shadow's backing as well as their slaves, the Clear types had no problem
waltzing into a seat of power. Ronduin is now fully under the Clear types'
control. Back in Lacuna, the survivors of the destruction of Fara are pleading
their case to their leader, hoping to find some type of retribution.
3. Sir Kyros has heard the pleas of his people and come to his conclusion -
Lacuna will march to war. In retalation of the Earth types striking against Fara,
he orders a group of fifty Clears to march south and strike back. That the Earth
type army isn't currently there doesn't seem to bother him one bit.
4. After extensive and heated discussions in Talen'sul's War Room, the two new
Storm Leaders included, plans were laid out on how to deal with the Clears in
Ronduin. Shortly after the plans were finalized, Darkstorm slipped off and wrote
a letter to tip off the Clears to the plans of the elementals, which did reach
their hands safely. While he was doing this, doubts of Darkstorm's loyalty were
revealed in discussion of the other Leaders. This was given credence once Taima,
Mind of Maelstrom, contacted Shadow mentally and received his testimony to
Darkstorm's treachery. Fueled with this knowledge, the Minds and Damien
confronted Darkstorm in a battle that was meant to kill him. However,
Darkstorm's men attacked - drove off only after Charanth came to the rescue with
some of his own Fire types. Darkstorm and his men fled back to the safety of
Maelstrom.
5. At the same time, Clears of Lacuna met with a resistance they hadn't expected
- Faolan and the Beasts of Beastiamens hadd assembled together in hopes of
marching to Talen'sul to give aid to the other elementals. Instead, they ran
face to face with the Clear army that had made its way to Bestiamens. A fight
ensued, closely matched until a slapdash resistance of Earth types had a forced
march out of Humontis to go give aid in the skirmish. Terribly outnumbered, the
Clears retreated and the Beasts and the Earth types enjoyed a victory.
6. The plans laid down by the Elemental Armies goes into full swing as they gain
one of their best victories against the Clear types. In Khelek, Mind types
gather together and teleport the entire Fire type army into the icelands. There,
Faren and Damien lay a trap for Jokull. At first, it seems as though it fails,
but Jokull actually willingly walks into the trap himself, not expecting the
Leader of Fires to be there. The two engage in a battle that ends all too
swiftly as the Fire type shows both his cunning and his elemental might and
burns through all of Jokull's defenses, eventually killing him.
Season Spring, Year 1001
1. The final battle of the war has been mounted! With the Ice types out of the
way, Avani and Thelon arrived with the Earth and Mind armies to set the stage
for the battle. With devestating affects, the Earths shook up the defenses of
the city, sending plans scattering, while the Mind types protected the
vulnerable troops. Lya and Tempest showed up with their respective armies,
dealing death from above as the Storms showered the area in thunderbolts. Shadow
and Cascata were sent to the forefront to do as much damage as possible. In the
midst of the melee, both Leaders were knocked out and dragged away to their
people, while the Storms rushed into Ronduin and killed the Clear leaders,
freeing Ronduin, and ending the war.
THE ELEMENTALS HAVE WON!
