| The Comic Strip: The Quaternion |

| "The Quaternion" is a self-contained 'year-in-the-life' comic strip I am diligently working on. It will chronicle the freshman year of an undergraduate with some...interesting problems. While I can't tell you too much of the story without giving away the plot, I can tell you that it would run in UT's The Daily Beacon over the course of two consecutive fall and spring semesters as I have previously discussed with the Beacon staff. Due to the necessity of a tight story line, I plan to complete the entire story along with cartoons before I will allow the strip to run, so this one may take some time. This strip evolved from my supersenior year as an undergraduate when I almost ran a weekly strip in the school newspaper, The Pacer. I couldn't seem to get one of the characters of that strip out of my head, and The Quaternion evolved from the ashes of that strip. The protagonist is Ashleigh, a naive and shy freshman in her first experiences with the world outside of what her parents created and enforced as her childhood and adolescent environment. Other characters include: Bast - an insightful, if not over-protective, cat Falstaff - an alcoholic, chainsmoking Teddy Bear Beckett - a very spiritual Black Swan This one is chock full o' symbolism, allusion, and blatant potty humor, so try to keep up. |
