The Flying V Horses!

Flying V Equestrian boasts well-trained, responsive horses for your riding enjoyment. As we have now moved away from riding lessons, many are now up for sale or lease. Please email if any interest you. Extended payment terms are available for some horses.

On 10th March, 2003, we sadly farewelled our little man Jake. He was put down after a wound in his face became infected and the infection reached his brain. It was a sad day for everyone who knew Jake, and he is very sorely missed. Jake was everyone's favourite. He was cheeky, mischievous, and gave very good cuddles! He was a wonderful beginner children's pony, although a bit naughty at times - but everyone still loved him! He was still a young pony at 6 years old, and stood at just over 11 hands. Jake was dun in colour, which is like a buckskin but with a dark stripe down his spine. He was blind in one eye, which we assumed was from an accident when he was a baby. There's a lot we didn't know about Jake, but he was a good natured fellow. He enjoyed trail riding and mounted games, and won ribbons in one day events - that's where you do dressage, showjumping and cross-country all on one day - as well as at dressage days and gymkhanas! Jake was an excellent all-rounder. Goodbye, little friend, we will miss you.

Mary is our star performer. She is little but has the biggest ego. (Although Jake would not have agreed with that!) Bring a camera and Mary will happily pose for you all day. She is a great pony, kind and gentle with nervous beginners, but lively enough to give a more advanced child a great ride as well. She takes care of disabled children also. Mary is registered as a Welsh Section B Pony and a Riding Pony. She stands at 13.1hh, is black in colour and is 15 years old. Mary loves jumping, playing in the dam and mounted games. She is also good at dressage. She has attended dressage days, one day events and gymkhanas, winning ribbons every time. Mary has also had three babies, one of which we own! Her son is called Snickers, and he is now 6 years old. Mary has been leased.

Sales is both riding and vaulting horse. He is the proverbial "gentle giant," standing at 16.2hh. He may look scary at first, but he is very sweet natured and great for beginner adults. Being a vaulting horse he is great for lunging lessons for the not-so-confident rider. He has also been the first mount for some children also, which proves his fantastic nature. Sales has been to the National Vaulting Championships with our team, and is really kind to the vaulters. Sales is a thoroughbred, is grey in colour and is 16 years old. Sales likes to trail ride and he loves vaulting, of course!! He is also very good at dressage, cross country and jumping - but only for advanced riders though! Sales is for sale at $1500 negotiable.

Rosie was purchased in 2001 as a yearling, and is now 6 years old. She has been to many shows, where her stunning looks and colour have won her many champion and reserve champion titles. She is palomino, with four socks and a blaze, and is approximately 12hh. Her summer colour is truly lovely, and her mane and tail are pure white. Rosie is registered Riding Pony and Arabian Riding Pony, and is eligible for Palomino and others if desired. As she has been shown mostly as a led horse, she is still quite green under saddle, but she is a quick learner and very willing. She has done two Prelim dressage tests for 65% and 67%. Rosie would suit a confident child rider for dressage, showing or Pony Club, or breeding. Rosie is for sale at $1500, but we will consider any offer. Lease may be considered to the right home.

Snickers is Mary's son, born in 2000. He was purchased at the same time as Rosie, and they are very attached to one another. Snickers was broken in at 3 years old, and has progressed nicely. He is about 13.2hh, and a dark buckskin with attractive markings. He is registered Arabian Riding Pony, and is eligible for buckskin as well. Snickers has a super quiet temperament, and is very sensible. He would suit a confident child rider for pony Club, dressage, or any rider for pleasure and trail riding. Snickers has been leased.
