FOLLOW ME ! Based on Luke 5:1-11
SIMON: It's no use! We're not going to catch anything tonight
Let's head back to shore!
JAMES: O.K. We'll haul in the nets and call it a night!
ANDREW:We'd better catch something tomorrow night ,Simon.
You wouldn't want the cat to starve,would you?
SIMON: I don't understand it,the conditions were perfect
tonight.We should've had a good haul.
JOHN: (shouts) Last one home's a rotten fish!
SIMON: You're on!
( Soon both boats land and the four men drag them up on the shore)
ANDREW: Let's get these nets washed and get home.We'll try again
tomorrow.....sorry,later tonight.
SIMON: I just want a good meal and a warm bed.
JOHN: Me too!
JAMES: Get a move on then!
(A man climbs into Simon's boat)
JESUS: Would you push your boat a little way out from the shore for me?
SIMON: (With some hesitation) Well,O.K.
JAMES: Who is that man?
ONE OF THE CROWD: Don't you know? It's Jesus of Nazareth!
We've followed him from the other side of the lake.
(Jesus begins to teach the crowds)
JESUS: Turn away from your sins for the Kingdom of God is
near! The Kingdom of God is like this;Some fishermen
throw their nets out in the lake and catch all kinds
of fish......
JOHN: They obviously weren't our fishing last night!
SIMON: Shhhhhh!
JESUS: When the net is full they pull it to shore and sit
down to divide the fish;the good ones go into the
buckets,the worthless ones are thrown away.
JESUS (cont'd) It will be like this at the end of the
age,the evil people will be separated from the
good,and thrown into the fiery furnace....
ANDREW: Who is this Man?
JOHN: Shhhhhh!
(Jesus finishes speaking and the crowd start to move off)
JESUS: Push the boat out further and you and your partners
let down your nets for a catch.
SIMON : But we spent all last night out in the boats and
caught nothing.But if you say so,I'll let down the
nets .
ANDREW:I'll give you a hand .
SIMON: The nets are almost at breaking point!
John!James!Come and help!
(The other boat comes alongside)
JOHN: Couldn't handle it without us?
SIMON: Less of the cheek,and put your nets down.(Nets down)
JAMES: Our nets are nearly breaking!
ANDREW: Never mind that!The boats are too low in the water.
JOHN: Can we make it back to shore?
SIMON: (He kneels at Jesus' feet)
Go away from me Lord!I am a sinful man!
ANDREW: It's incredible!
JOHN: I've never seen anything like it!
JAMES: How did he know the fish would be here?
JESUS: Don't be afraid;from now on you'll be catching men.
(They pull the boats up on the beach)
JESUS: Follow Me!
(They leave everything behind and follow him)
