At the Youth Club
MARTIA: Did you hear about the weird things that have happened in Capernaum ?
SANDRA: I heard a wee girl was brought back from the dead.
JOHN : You can't bring people back from the dead.
SANDRA: This Jesus from Nazareth can.
ROBERT : And that's not all .I heard he heals lepers too.
MARTIA: Apparently, he heals blind people as well.
JOHN : You can't really expect people to believe all that ?
SANDRA: It's true. My cousins Tom and Jackie were there - they saw it with their own
eyes.
ROBERT: Very funny !
SANDRA: No. Seriously.They told me they were there when Jesus healed two blind men.
JOHN: O.K. So what happened then ?
SANDRA: There was a lot of excitement in Capernaum because people had heard about
Jesus raising the wee girl from the dead.
MARTIA: So when these two blind men heard the story, they decided to find Jesus and
ask him to heal them.
SANDRA: They stopped and listened. People were rushing about and everyone was
talking at the top of their voices, and all at once. They were sure this was the
one who could help them .
MARTIA: The two blind men heard all about Jesus, the Son of David, the promised
Saviour.
They knew he was close at hand, but of course, they couldn't see where.
SANDRA: Someone passing helped them on the road leading out of town, and they
followed in Jesus' footsteps. Gradually ,they caught up till they were within
shouting distance.
MARTIA: "Help us ! Son of David ! Take pity on us !",they shouted.
Jesus turned. When he saw the blind men behind him, he invited them into a
nearby house to speak to them.
SANDRA: It was my cousins' house. Jesus asked the blind men, "Do you believe
that I can heal you ?" ."Yes sir.!" they both answered. They obviously had great
Faith in Jesus. Then Jesus touched their eyes and said, "Let it happen then, just
as you believe."
MARTIA: The two men opened their eyes and started to jump up and down. "We can
see! We can see! Then Jesus told them not to tell anyone what had happened.
SANDRA: But all their friends and neighbours could see that Jesus had healed them. And
anyway how do you keep something like that quiet
ROBERT: Do you think Jesus is really the Son of David, the promised Saviour ?
JOHN: Well, I'm convinced, how could he be anything else ?
