VOICE-OVER: Good Evening, Ladies and Gentlemen.

This evening's Story-Teller is that star of stage and screen .........................
The story is another original - Just for you.
STORY-TELLER: Once there was a great King who ruled over a great Empire.
People of many nations were under his rule.
Over the years, the King sent out messengers to give his people laws to live by and warnings of punishments for their disobedience. But the
people only laughed at ,or persecuted or killed the messengers. So the
King decided to send his only Son - heir to his Kingdom. He would show the people of his nation what his Father wanted them to be. He would teach them a new and better way to live.
Some listened to the Son and their lives were changed. Others
refused to listen and plotted to kill the Son. One dark night, the leaders of the people sent a mob to arrest the Son . The Son was falsely accused &
the trial was a sham. Then they took the Son and.....
#1 PERSON : Hold it ! I recognise that story! (STANDS UP)............
VOICE-OVER: Excuse me, we're trying to do a T.V. show here !
#1 PERSON: Your original story is only 2000 years old!
STORY-TELLER: Oh, yes ?
#1 PERSON: Jesus of Nazareth told it .
STORY?TELLER: And what did he know about it ?
#1 PERSON : He was talking about himself !
STORY-TELLER: O.K. Smart Alec ! Prove it !
#1 PERSON: I will ! (MOVES TO MICROPHONE)
First: God, the King sent the prophets to tell the people how to live his
way. But they were laughed at, persecuted or killed. Then: God ,the King
sent Jesus - the Son to teach the people what God was really like and how
to live God's way.
But the way that Jesus taught was seen as a threat by the religious
leaders, so they plotted to get rid of him. And they had him crucified,
thinking that would be the end of him - and the end of the story.
STORY-TELLER: Well,it was - wasn't it

#1 PERSON: That's another story for another day - If you like I'll come back and tell you

EASTER SUNDAY ENDING (omit Good Friday Ending)
#1 PERSON : No. Jesus said that the Temple would be destroyed and on the third day, it
would be rebuilt .
STORY-TELLER: Don't tell me ! He was talking about himself.
#1 PERSON : Right! His body was brought down from the Cross and put in a rich man's tomb. On the morning of the third day ,some women went to the tomb and found it empty.
STORYTELLER: Empty ?
#1 PERSON: They say one of the women actually spoke to Jesus.
STORY-TELLER : You can't expect our audience to believe that!
#1 PERSON : Believe it or not ! The women ran to tell Jesus' followers that Jesus' body
was gone from the tomb. Two of then ran to see for themselves. The tomb
empty ! The burial cloths were neatly folded where his body had lain.
Jesus was seen many times in the days that followed .The people who knew him best were able to speak with him and to touch him.
STORY-TELLER: But it's only a story !
