The Freshman
Buffy starts college, seems to
not fit in, has a roomate which is a Celine Dion fan. She feels
all alone. She then meets this guy one night who is like her,
lost. She gets to know him a bit before she finds her way and
goes to her dorm. They guy, however, is attacked by Vampires who
eat him then decide to change him into one of them. Buffy, the
next day, realises he has "left" but in his room she
finds this book which is his security blanket and he had told
her that it never left him. So the next night she sees him, chases
after him then realises he's a vamp and stakes him. The Vampire
gang that was on campus attacks her and severely hurts her arm.
She decides to go home the next day and finds that her mum has
filled her room with packing crates (she had thought she wouldn't
be home for weeks) so she goes to the Brone to mope and finds
Xander. He tells her of his summer of washing dishes somewhere
cos his car had fallen apart (the engine literally fell out) and
she tells him of the story about the vamp and what had happened.
By the way, Oz and Willow are on campus but they are thouroughly
enjoying themselves, fitting in, not lost in any regard.
Buffy doesn't want them to be unhappy. She had gone to see Giles
but he had had a woman round so she had left despite needing his
help. So she and Xander go to the place where the vamps are (they
had thought Buffy was gonna take off so they stole all her stuff)
and Xander heads off to get some weapons. While he's gone Buffy
falls through the rough window on which she had been spying. The
vamps were making fun of all her stuff. She tries to fight them
but she is so off her game and her arm is further damaged.
Then the ringleader (Sunny or something, I'll call her Sunny)
brakes her cute little umbralla which was the Class Protector
award. This makes her mad and Buffy fights her with new vengence.
Meanwhile Oz and Willow had been in Buffy's room, looking at the
note the vamps had left when Xander apeared. Hugs all round (ok,
only Willow and Buffy's roomie 'till he realised he didn't know
her - Oz and Xander were too manly to hug) and Xander cryptically
tells the two that Buffy was with vamps (her friends with no tans
who only go out at night) and they leave after getting weaponry.
They arrive at the place, barging in to find Buffy fighting. They
join in a kill a couple. They vamps are all dusted or have run
away so they gather Buffy's stuff and head out to find Giles with
weaponry (he had felt guilty and had been up all night). They
get him to carry a box and they head off. That's basically it.
I'll add more detail if I ever get time.
