Bits 'n' Pieces
By Stephanie Hunt

"So have you worked out what's wrong with my car?"
"Not yet but I'm sure it'll show itself soon." The mechanic stood up and looked into the ladies eyes. "You do have petrol in it, don't you?" His eyes twinkled at his own little joke.
The lady's eyes narrowed. She hit him across the face. "How dare you make fun of me!" She hit him again. And again. She drew her gun.
"No! Please, no!" She unlatched the safety switch.
Bang!!!

"Darling, what was that noise?"
"Just a car back-firing, dear. Nothing to be afraid of." The couple refoucused their eyes on the television. The movie was starting.

Knock, knock, knock. "Miss Maria? Miss Maria, your rent is due." Achoo! Rattle, rattle… Bang! The door opened suddenly, banging against the inside wall.
"I won't be needing this apartment anymore, Sir Charles. I'm heading north."

Two weeks later, as Charles walked past room 6, he noticed a foul smell. "Morning, Jack! Sorry about giving you that cold."
"'s all right. I see you're over yours."
"Yep! Fit as a fiddle."
"Well I'll see you later then." Jack walked away leaving Charles to investigate the apartment.
He unlocked the door and stepped into the vacant home.

"Argh!!!" A blood-curdling scream swept through the building. People everywhere rushed out of their apartments to see what had happened.

"Darling, do you think I should call the police? That was quite a loud scream. Disturbing the peace, it is."
"Yes dear. You go and call the police, if it'll make you feel better."

"Somebody call 911!"
"But we're in Britain."
"What's the number for 911?"

"So when was it that you discovered the body?"
"An hour or so aga. About 2 o'clock."
"And you say you think you know who the murderer is."
"Yes. A Miss Maria Capulet. She was renting the place previously."
"And you say she was heading north?"
"Yessum! That's what she told me, constable."
"Thankyou for your help. And now could you please come down to the station to help make up the picture of her."

"Miss Maria Capulet was caught today. She was wanted for the murders of four Montigue brothers. Thanks to the help of Sir Charles Frasco the police wer able to find her at her hideout in Ireland."
