My movie page
Well I'll do the same thing here that I'm doing for
my events page (on my friend's page) and have the latest (new)
movies on the top.
Saw Cut (M) on
Saturday (4/3/2000). It was a great, aussie, slayer movie. I'll
write more later if I get the chance. 3/5.
Well today (well actually yesterday: 2/1/2000) I saw
Sleepy Hollow (MA). I loved
it! Well I love Jonny Depp and I admire Christini Ricci but it
was really an excellent movie. I love this type of movie (dark,
supernatural, paranormal, cool accents *sigh*) and it wasn't a
B grade movie. I give it 4.5/5 cos Depp is soooo cool.
I love how there are two people in this movie who faint. Guess
who! It's soooo funny. And there were a couple places where it
was obviously supposed to be comedy and (this cinema wasn't that
full but it wasn't that empty either) only me and my Dad
laughed. Which actually made me laugh louder. It was such a cool
movie that I recomend it to any dark-movie fan (ie. ALL of Tim
Burtin's films, Jonny Depp fans, Christini Ricci fans, fans of
movies with the Dark City/The Matrix genre, and
all movies like The Nightmare Before Christmas (Burtin's)).
And to give you an idea of the soundtrack remember it is
a Tim Burtin movie and (like practically all of his movies - as
many as I can recal) it is Danny Elfman who does the music.
On 1/1/2000 I saw Being John
Malcovich (M) which was definately non-mainstream.
It was very good and I recomend it to anyone who thinks that the
ads for it make it look interesting. Anyone who likes the look
of it from the ads should go and check it out cos they'll enjoy
it. 3.5/5.
Last year, on 31/12/1999 I saw End
Of Days (M). An Arnold Schwarzenegger action movie.
It has great visual effects a half decent plot and my favourite
action hero. What really made me laugh is the simularity of Schwarzenegger's
charecter in this movie and Last Action Hero which I saw
on Boxing Day or the following day. I really can't remember that
well. In both movies he's lost his wife (in this movie via death,
in Last Action Hero via divorce) and a young child. Because
of this loss he is very down, suicidal (well, almost, in Last
Action Hero). In both movies his character is/was a cop. But
I love action movies and I love Arnie so I have to give it 3.9/5.
I can't give it more because the plot wasn't that great and some
of it was beyond cornie. But (and this isn't that far into the
movie so it's not a spoiler - just watch a few Behind End Of
Days programs and you'd find it out there) I start to think,
what would the movie have been like if Arnie had shot himself?
Would there have been more action?? Would Satan have got the great
sex he so wanted??? I recon it would be great if they made alternate
versions of this film. It would be funny. *giggle, giggle*
