In the early part of 2008, James Maxwell decided to take his show on the road and hang up his shingle as a whip coach and performer. To this end he needed the right tool, a high quality, very accurate, very durable show whip. Enter Louie Foxx, the famous magician and whip artisan. After extensive consultation with Louie, the end result is The Maxwell Special. This target style whip is made to the exacting specifications of James D. Maxwell for use on stage and screen.

This whip is James's preferred show and coaching whip. It's fast enough to be pleasing to the eye, but slow enough to allow a student to follow it's motion. This is truely a one of a kind whip and one that will see much use. Although The Maxwell Special is not available to the general public, you too can order your own whip in your style from the maker.
