TESTIMONIES

I have had the privilege of ministering with Debbie Shields both in Victoria and in Powel River. I have also brought women from our church, to one of Debbie's retreats. The women who have come with me, to one of Debbie's retreats, all came back to our church, excited, inspired and stirred up in the Holy Spirit. I found Debbie's teaching to be very word based and it is her ability to make the Word practical and applicable to everyday life, that is one of her greatest strengths!! She's one of those teachers that can make you laugh, and cry, all in the same session, and still come out feeling refreshed, and challenged, for having heard from the Lord! Debbie walks in a spirit of humility, but also in an authority, that comes from having spent time with God. I highly recommend her as a teacher, and as a speaker. BUT...if you don't want the Holy Spirit falling, and the power of God coming...you might want to find someone else! Cause Debbie does bring with her, an annointing to release the presence of God wherever she ministers!! And she does it with grace...and a great sense of humour!

Debbie Consistently displays those sterling characteristics that exemplify a life fully lived for Christ. She teaches with a power and passion that never fails to stir the soul and convict the heart. Debbie is a woman of discernment who moves mightily in all the gifts of the Spirit. She is a faithful mother, and engaging teacher, a mighty warrior, and a faithful friend of both myself and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Western Communities Aglow regards Debbie Shields as one of our Favorite speakers. In fact we try to schedule her speaking near the beginning of the year in order to get off to a good start. She is a dynamic woman of God who flows in the Holy Spirit. She speaks clearly and with humour, teaching the truths God is teaching her. The message she gave Jan 30 /03 with our group on " The Power of The Tongue" was excellent.

Debbie is a deeply gifted Leader with  the heart of a servant. She seizes Biblical truths, grinds and percolates them, and pours them out with the clarity and passion of a strong, articulate preacher. Her prophetic gifting has been generously dispensed to touch the hearts and lives of thoses she serves. She is a caring, gifted woman who bears the heart of the Father for others, and is determined to proclaim the urgent message of this age; Christ crucified, died, and risen again. She has been used by the Lord to touch my life, and the lives of many others.
Testimony of Wendy Larkin
Debbie Shield's, teacher and speaker of (Women of the Word) --(Flying High Ministries) has been a like a spiritual mentor to me. We met three years ago at Eastgate Vineyard, when I began to go to church there.
This is when  my life truely began to transform. Through Debbie's faith in who she is in Christ, I was taught how to walk in the salvation and wholeness that are my inheritance as a woman in Christ. Her kind nature and selfless personality  contributed greatly to who I am today.
Praise God for the Debbie Shields in this world that pull up beside others and through their teaching help us to look upward instead of keeping our eyes on the things of this world. Today, I see and value myself the way the Lord Jesus does  instead of wallowing in past bitterness and self pity.
Testimony from Ann Rolls
Debbie Shields, of Flying High Ministries, is my friend, mentor, and a gifted teacher of the Word. I've known her for almost 7 years (before I became a born again christian), and as a beleiver for almost the past two years-She led my 2 teenage daughters to the Lord. She brought us peace by accepting the Lord and with the love of Jesus Christ, in a time when our lives were spiralling downward out of control and there was no way out. I had turned my back on believing in God for about 4 years because of alot of hurt inside, one daughter was dabbling in witchcraft, looking for "something" that would fill the emptiness inside, and the other teen was on the road to destruction, but Debbie never gave up on praying for me and my family for 5 years, that we would come to know the Lord. She taught me that it was okay to be loved, and introduced me to another friend, Jesus Christ, who loved me even more, and would never leave me.
Through incredible pain and suffering, Jesus has seen me through alot of tears, and joy as well. During it all, Debbie encouraged me to keep reading the word, got me doing to church, prayed with me constantly, and through her teaching the Word at church and by her example  through everyday life, I have been transformed from an angry, hurting, unforgiving person, to someone I like now- my family is happy to see the new "me"- thanks to Jesus Christ!
He has healed me physically, mentally, and spiritually-through His love, His Holy Spirit, and an awesome Father who will never stop loving me! Being a Christian is not being "religous" or belonging to a "religion" - it is having a
relationship with Jesus Christ!!!
It is one thing to become a "new creation in Christ", but it'sanother, to start to renew your mind, from your old way of thinking. It can be done by reading the Word, by getting God's teachings deep inside of you- to help you through life's trials and tribulations. Debbie has been a wonderful mentor, and her teaching me about what God's Word says and His promises and blessings that He has for me and my family, has been life changing- it can be for you too! I thank Jesus everyday for being in my life, for Debbie's love for Christ, and for His Word being taught through her at "Women of the Word". Come to the meetings and feel the love of Christ and His Word come alive in you!

Debbie, I just wanted to drop you a short note and let you know how much I have appreciated Monday night. It was like an oasis in the desert for me. I have been crying out to God for a place where there was a balance between the Word and the Spirit and I really saw that on Monday night.
When I walked in it just felt like walking into a warm glove - safe, true and also alive. The words that you spoke over me were a real confirmation to me and an assurance.
Your testimony allowed me to see into your life and I see that you aren't just acquainted with the 'acts of the Lord' but also know 'His ways'. You have been through the fire and the flood and have come through the other side. There are many women on my heart - some christians some not yet- I feel like Monday night is a place where I could invite them and know they will be safe and will be fed the truth in love. Be encouraged and God bless you richly today.
Sandy Gowans has always been such a blessing to me and the wonderful lady that does the sound - thank her for her warm embrace.

WOW has been such a blessing to me. Recently I was going through a dark time and the enemy just about had me convinced that " No one cared." I have had enough training to take a look at the root of the fruit. I repented of the judgement , " No one will care for me" that I wrote on my heart years ago. I don't need to go into gory details. You may have a different one but that was mine.
For years I have battled it. As you know the judgement vows will live until you kill it through repentance and then walking it out. I repented about a month ago and still walking through a "dark" time when I felt  I was to go to WOW ( 2 weeks ago) and NOT stay home. When I arrived I was asked , " How are you doing?" My response was, "Truth?" they said , "Yes." I said , " I have been hiding in work because I am having trouble facing transitions in my life." They seemed to be happening in all of the areas of my life- work, church and family all at the same time.
She said she had been praying for me  and I actually felt cared for and it touched my heart. Then when you ( Debbie) came over and prayed for me, "stuff" got busted off.
When I left I only felt a little foggy, not alot. Since then the fog has lifted and there has been a growing anticipation in my heart about what the Lord is doing. Such freedom, such wonder, such love!! The enemy had attempted to steal my salvation, hopes, dreams, gifts, job and my best friend Jesus from me. I'm still not entirely sure what it was all about but i know that God is bigger and He is faithful in my life.
He has brought me through.    Psalm 139:17-18

Dear Debbie, I've been meaning to write and tell you how totally blessed I have been coming to Women of the Word the last two weeks. The Lord's presence has been there so strongly and I beleive that He just loves what is happening!
Two weeks ago, once I finally peeled myself off of the floor from under that purple banner and was driving home, I realized that I've had this perception that "teachers" are just boring "preachers". You know the ones that just don't seem very anointed--like just totally boring...Anyways, you just thouroughly rocked that belief back to the devil! You were able to teach the word with such anointing and clarity at the same time. It was profound in its simplicity. By that I mean that you didn't take an obscure scripture and form a big message around it ( which is good in its own way), but instead you just explained what the bible was already saying in terms of the context and culture of the times. I LOVE THAT!!
Thank you so much! I was totally amazed -- you are like Victoria's Secret Weapon!! However, I sense that you won't be secret for long. Considering that I can't keep my mouth shut about how blessed and transformed I was, and that's only me -- there's quite a few people in that room!
The other thing that I wanted to say was that you really inspired me, I'm totally excited to sit under your teaching and learn from you. Thank you for the faith you have for women in this city.
Testimony by Anny Ruch
WOW is not just another bible  study, Debbie humbly steps aside and lets the Lord work effectively on Monday nights, and this makes for  fulfilling worship and  anointed preaching. We all do need to grow, learn and mature, and you are reaching your goal in equipping people effectively Debbie.
The anointing falls over the place on Mondys and seems to be staying with us during the week. I know God and the angels rejoice over what is going on...and Satan shivers.
Bless you Debbie for your obedience in pouring out your life, sacrificing family time with your children, giving up worldly goals to be there for the women of Victoria. We love you dearly.
Testimony by Freddy Ruch
"I can't help it, I can't help it, it is like a magnet that draws me to Women Of The Word even though I am a man! So I have attended meetings other than men's nights and just enjoyed the topic on women in church history, and the real meaning behind the apostle Paul's  words to and about women. It is time truth is exposed, ditches bridged. I love it and won't stay away, even if it requires a disguise. See you on Monday!
Testimony by Dan & Mary Anne Steyn
Debbie is a woman after God's own heart. And she is a digger!! By  searching into the historical, cultural and social aspects and implications of biblical times, and with prayerful application to today, Debbie's teachings unpack the Word, line by line, revealing the uncompromised truth and Word of God, that we can all understand.
Testimony by Linda Shields
I want to testify how the Lord has anointed this ministry to release His children in power and purpose. Through these services, I have experienced a deep spiritual awakening, a stirring, and a freeing up. Twenty years I have walked with my Saviour, and  this is definetly another adventure in Him. I don't know where it's going, but I remain excited, and feel so blessed, to have  been included in this awesom move of Father's  Spirit. I thankfully have been empowered with new confidence, alertness in the Spirit, and what an experience to be released to worship the way I know my Father intended me to. This life in Christ just keeps getting sweeter.
Thankyou Debbie Shields , for your obedience and Holy boldness, and your sacrificial heart, that allows His Spirit to reach through you and draw us further into the vision, Father God has towards each one of us.
Ann I love you too. HalleluuuuJahhh.....Gloryyyy!!!!

Kathyrn's Healing Testimony
It was the week before the Highland games and I was practicing on the back porch. That's when I leaped up in the air and landed strangely. My foot! The pain was incredible. Immediately my foot began to swell. By the time my dad got home from work I was hobbling around with the sponge mop under my left armpit.
When mom arrived home she took me to the hospital. The E.R. doctor recognized this an an athletic injury. The ligament had torn off of the bone taking with it a small piece of bone. He told us it was unlikely that the injury would ever heal 100%, but with casting, and the use of crutches the pain would be contolled. I was told to see my family doctor as soon as possible so that he could assess if a more permanent cast was needed. Unfortunately, I could not see the doctor for 2 weeks.
During thoses 2 weeks I attended Woman Of The Word and asked for prayer. I wanted my foot healed by God. I hated the cast and the restrictions of this injury. After the first prayer for healing I did experience less pain however, after the second prayer I took the initiative to remove the cast myself. When I went to the doctor he sent me for x-rays and when the results came back he told me he could not find anything wrong with my foot In fact, it looked like it had never been broken. I returned to Women Of The Word, and gave my testimony in both word and deed ( I danced around!!!!)

Since  1997 I have sat under the teaching of Debbie. I really appreciate her hardwork in research and preperation of the word before she presents it with so much love and compassion under the anointing  of the Holy Spirit.
Debbie is sensitive to the Holy Spirit as she ministers to those around her with her pastoral and prophetic gifts. She has encouraged me greatly to use my gifts in her meetings and I feel that I have grown spiritually as a direct result of it.
I enjoy bringing friends from all walks of life to her meetings. A friend of mine gave her life to the Lord at a " Women Of The Word" meeting.
It is so good  Debbie's meetings give people the opportunity to become children of God.
Testimony of Bridget Blair
I just wanted to say that it was God who directed me to meet Debbie. I was looking in the Sunday Info a few years ago and I came across the ad for Women of The Word.
I went there to check it out. I was in awe at this lady so filled with passion and zeal. I kept going to all the meetings and I grew so much in the Word.
One night she san a song, " come on my little children your daddy is calling you to come and sit on my knee." I started bawling, I wanted to run up and sit on her knee. Then it dawned on me how much that my daddy in heaven really did love me. I sat under Debbie's teaching for 18 months. Then I was so sad to move to Duncan but I really took what I learned from Debbie To Duncan.
Now I have the passion and boldness and the love to see the broken hearted released into their destiny. My husband really respected Debbie and I believe he has received healing from her too. He talks about the love that she has shown people. I thank the Lord for getting an opportunity to be blessed to know a woman of God like Debbie.
