"Chainmail for sale"  This is the chain mesh used on butcher's gloves to keep them from cutting  their fingers off! When put on a model horse it is almost perfect scale to be chainmail! It can be used for a variety of things, chainmail skirts for jousting costumes on the horse and on the rider. Used as "bit Beards" on authentic period costumes like Conquistador (Bit beards were right under the bit and were to help prevent someone from cutting the reins.) Or for anything you can imagine. The above pictures give you an idea of how this stuff looks on Traditional, classic  and Little Bit sized models. It also shows you how well it drapes and  conforms to the model.  I have a small supply still and once this runs out that is it. My husband no longer works for the company that got this stuff in, so I will no longer be able to get it. I will warn you it is tough stuff to work with and has to be cut a small piece at a time, after all it is supposed to be "cut" resistant to prevent fingers from flying! But with patience it can be done. I have one costume done by Marcella Peyer-ferry were she used a small piece as a bit beard and it looks nice. These are all scraps, so I try to mix in a "bit of everything" big pieces and small. Price is $6 a pound plus shipping. Please email me for shipping rates .

Here we have a Breyer male Farrier doll all made up in chain armor by Kitty Anderson. As you can see, he is still able to "sit" astride his mount with the chainmail on. Kitty did a great job with this guy! To contact Kitty with questions about her work, or request, at [email protected]
