It's just the beginning part, but thats probably the only part people remember it by. On the album there is no background he just plays this by himself with a clean sound. It takes some patience to learn it and after you learn it you need to put some feel into it. The X's stand for a string mute. Just mute the strings and strum all of them. The > stands for a finger slide either up or down the string, depending on what side of the note it is on. The ^ stands for a hammer-on or a pulloff, again, depending on what note it is going to.
