TOW Chandler and Monica’s Fight

AUTHOR’S NOTE: This is a continuation of TOW The Surprises, so read that one first to understand this.

Scene: Where we last left off, in C&M’s apartment.

Chan: Monica! Wait!

(Monica runs out of the apartment, tears in her eyes.)

Scene: Central Perk, everyone is there except Chandler and Monica.

Phoe: I wonder how Chandler took the news.

Rach: I bet he took it well. (Monica enters in that same depressing state as before) I could be wrong, though.

Ross: Mon, what happened?!

Mon: I went into the apartment to tell Chandler the news and...and....(now she was sobbing histerically)

Joey: And what?

Mon: And he...he was...(She found she couldn’t continue. How was she supposed to handle this. The one person
in her life that was never supposed to hurt her. The one person she trusted with everything had betrayed her.
She couldn’t believe it. The one person she loved more than anything else in the world, was...) with another woman!
(She finally gasped out. She couldn’t say anything else. It was too depressing.)

Scene: C&M’s apartment.

He saw the tears in her eyes as she ran out, dropping the shopping bags onto the floor. He saw the pain in her eyes,
thought what she must have thought when she saw him there, hugging that other woman. This was his fault. "How could I
have been so dumb?" he thought to himself, "What was I doing hugging that woman that I barely knew? I was being stupid.
I should have been able to calm myself down. My stupidity caused this." He wondered how she would ever forgive him.
He was found with another woman, and he knew that everyone thought that he had been acting weird all week. He couldn’t
believe this.

Chan: Monica! I can explain! (He rushed out the door, he didn’t care about anything right now. He jumped over the
shopping bags, he didn’t notice or care what was in them. He ran downstairs, not caring that he had left Sara whats-her-name
in their apartment. He knew that she was far ahead of him now, she was really fast. He ran to Central Perk, because
he figured that’s where she would go. But by the time he got there Monica had already told them what happened.

Scene: Central Perk, Chandler rushed in. Monica is sitting on the couch with Phoebe and Rachel, crying. Ross and
Joey are leaned over the back of the couch, comferting her.

Chan: Monica! (He gasped) I-

Ross(getting up): I can’t believe you did that! You’re supposed to love her! You’re suppoesed to never hurt her,
and now you did this?! (He looked as if he was about to kill)

Chan: Just let me explain! Mon-

Ross(interrupting again): No! Don’t you ever talk to her again! Get away from her! Get away from all of us!

Chan: Joey? (seeking help)

Joey(sadly): I can’t believe you did that, Chandler. I really thought you loved her. I looked up to you, man. I
thought you would never hurt her and I respected that. (sadder than ever) Ross is right.

Chan: Rachel? Phoebe?

(They both shake their heads with tears on there eyes.)

Rach: Its true, Chandler.

Chan(despirate for a last attempt): Please, Mon. I would never do this to you.

Ross: I told you to-

Mon:(speaking for the first time) Chandler, I loved you and I never, ever thought you would hurt me. I loved you more than
I had ever loved anyone in my life. I trusted you with everything I was worth. I thought you would never do that to
me. I don’t care what your explination is. I thought that no one I ever loved could cause me this much pain. I guess
I thought wrong. No one that can cause me that much pain is worth being near. I never thoght I would ever say this
to you. (She chokes out the next few words.) It’s over, Chandler.
