Thoughts on Grace and Good Works
Sometimes I am led to wonder why is it we as Christians sometimes feel this impending doom that lightening is about to strike. Why we still look over our shoulder and why we still sin. I can remember times in my life that I sinned, and I was made very aware that I was sinning right before I went through with it. And after I do such a stupid thing I always think "if only I could wrap my hands around the devils neck and show'em a thing or two, yeah, I'd teach'em. It's hard for me, and I believe many of you, to remember that the devil is more powerful then us. Yes, we are under grace, yet he still affects our lives and our choices everyday. I understand now more then ever that if i try to beat the temptations of this world by myself I lose, and boy do I lose miserably. Sometimes I think, how on earth can I expect God to forgive me? I mean, if I was God I probably would strike me with lightening (I think we are all very happy right about now knowing that I am not God). I think that sometimes we feel indanger of losing God's love no matter how much scripture we know, or how close to God we are. And that, my friend, is the most amazing thing of all. Even when we sin delibritaly we can still come back to our Father, and find we have already been forgiven. Our Father already knew that we would stick our heads where they didn't belong and nearly get our fingers chopped off touching what we shouldn't. He already knew our sin long before he created us. And we cannot, no matter how hard we try, under any circumstance sin enough to make God stop loving us. The only thing we can do to fall away from his grace is deny His son...and even then he keeps on loving us. Glory be to God in the highest indeed!

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who has faith... Romans 1:16 Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. Romans 12:9 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. 1 Corinthians 3:19 We know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. Galatians 2:16 Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29 ...he saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:5 GOD APPOSES THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE. James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5 But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated, but in your hearts sancitfy Christ as Lord. 1 Peter 3:14 Do not love the world or the things in the world. 1 John 2:15 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8 |
Such a precious gift life is. I believe every moment in life should be treasured. I believe bad things sometimes happen to good people. I believe suffering shapes endurance. I believe sometimes chances have to be taken. I believe making mistakes is okay. I believe life should be lived to the fullest.

My Psalm The Lord is my rock. Jesus is my salvation. Through the blood on the cross I shall be saved. The Lord is my fire He keeps me warm and when evil invades He protects me. The Lord is my water. He nourishes me and when I sin He cleanses me. The Lord is my blanket. he wraps himself around me He does not flee but is with me forever. Written in High School
