| I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI, USA where I lived with my mother and grandparents. I grew up for several years in a Roman Catholic church and was baptized as an infant and took first communion while at St. Alphonsus. Around the age of 6 my mother was married to my stepfather and we transfered to Bethlehem Lutheran Church and became Lutherans. When I was young I didn't really understand much about God or the Bible, but I enjoyed going to church. As I grew into my teen years I lost interest in church for the most part and was involved in materialism and worldly things. When I entered tenth grade however I began to take a serious look at my faith and became very involved in my church soaking up everything I could about the Lutheran faith and because I didn't know any different believed most of what I was told. Then in eleventh grade I became very good friends with someone of a different backround (Baptist) and we started arguing theology. I became interested in learning about his faith and re-examining my own. Because the two faiths were very different on some matters I knew that one had to be right and one had to be wrong. I spent almost three years learning and debating theology and trying to decide what the truth was. Finally, through prayer and conviction God lead me to believe that the Lutheran faith has some serious fallacies causing me to leave. On September 9, 2001 I was rebaptized at North Park Baptist Church. Though I belong to a Baptist church I do not consider myself a Baptist. Instead I only label myself after my Lord and Savior- Jesus Christ. I have been saved for some time now. I don't know exaclty when God gave me the faith I needed to be saved, but I know that I was young. If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior- please click here. |
