THE PSYCHO-EDUCATIONAL EVALUATION

This evaluation is intended to help children and adolescents as well as their parents and teachers better understand their own unique strengths and weaknesses. This testing is essential for providing necessary information in making academic decisions regarding placement and appropriate teaching strategies. It helps to uncover both academic as well as emotional barriers to learning. It is also useful in pinpointing learning disabilities.

Psychological Testing Can Help You To:

    Uncover Self-Delimiting Barriers to Success.

Better Understand Your Own Unique Personality.

    Assess Your Intelligence & Capabilities.

    Diagnose Learning Problems & Disabilities.

    Diagnose ADHD.

    Diagnose Depression, Anxiety, & Stress.

The following instruments are used:

    Clinical Interview

    Screening for Depression and Anxiety

Weschler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-III)

    Weschler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT)

    Continuous Performance Test (CPT)

    Personality Inventory For Youth (PIY)

At the conclusion of the evaluation which typically takes from 2 to 3  sessions, a conference will be held with the parent(s) and child/adolescent to discuss results. A professional, written report will be delivered at that time. This report can be shared by the parents with the school and/or the physician. It can serve as a benchmark for measuring future success.
