I met them just before they got on the bus, and, my god, you don t want to know how the bus looked like... They had so much stuff to carry, including 60 litres of water! But they had a little wagon with them to carry everything, but it must have been so heavy. Anyway, just before they left, do you know what they locals put on the bus roof? a coffin with a dead person inside!!! I just couldn t believe, I thought I was dreaming...
So the salar of uyuni, is a gigantic area that once used to be a salt lake but that is now just salt, 8 meters deep, and flat for kilometres... so they crossed it from ouest to east back to Uyuni, about 150km in 4 days. the climate is like in the desert! The thing I told myself, except that there were crazy, was that they must have needed some challenge, there are mountain guides... |
