| Pokey was bought home while we still lived in our old house, I remember the day we got her. Our old cat Sooner had gotten bitten on the foot by a snake, or a mouse, or some type of rodent, or else she had stepped on an old nail because I remember seeing her in the old broken down fort. Mom had taken her to the vet, and the whole day we had worried about her. When mom finnally came home, I ran out side and looked in the cat carrier to see a small black kitten staring back up at me. I ran to my mom and asked her where my Sooner was and my mom said she had to be put down because her foot was so infected she would have to have her leg amputated, and she was rather old so my mom had chosen it would be best to just put her down. :( So, anywho, the lady who worked at the vets office in Vanderhoof had said her cat had recently had a litter of kittens, so mom took one home. We first named Pokey, Kisses, because she loved to give kisses, but then my older sister discoverd that if you wisteled Pokey would poke at your face. So we named her Pokey! |
