Green Roadway at the Gates of the City - Southern Arc
Coming from the long narrow bridge, open to the sky in all its infinite variety,
and entering into the city itself is like
stepping into a world of perpetual twilight. A wall of living green skirts the
deeper color of the Green Roadway that you
now stand on. Set with deep, time-worn stones of a rich emerald hue, the roadway
runs alongside the feet of the high wall of
living green which encircles the whole of the city. Enormous trees lean massive
branches overhead. Shadows puddle
secretively in small hollows between the trunks, and lights gleam invitingly
from the depths of the wooded city. Perhaps a
shaft of sunlight, perhaps a silvered lamp... musical laughter echoes from tree
to tree.
To the southwest, the arms of the wall overlap a few paces, forming a gap
secured by a great gate. A winding path leads up
the hill, disappearing into the leaves of the mighty mallorn trees which tower
tall and powerful on this hill.

=====================================================================
The light of early afternoon shines down upon the gently elven city, deep within
the heart of Lothlorien. Golden light,
mingles with brilliant white, and the colors of day shine through the canopy of
Mallorn blossoms and leaves. Song rings over
the land as sweet elven voices sing of days long past, allowing each word to
bring forth memories held dear.
Within this lovely summer day, the carpenter Ereduinthil wanders along the Green
Roadway, heading northwest towards the
Crafters workspaces. Pausing a moment he lifts a friendly hand towards the
Guards at the gate. "Well met my friends!"
Lostiriel walks slowly down the Green Roadway, head bowed slightly as if deep in
thought, and hums lightly. At the sound of
a voice, however, she lifts her head and studies the figure that is also walking
along the roadway. She pauses for a moment
and then smiles towards the carpenter.
Turning in time to catch sight of an elleth, the carpenter smiles. "Well met, my
friend. How goes this day for you?"
You paged Nethraunien with 'Okay.. this is what we're going to do. First, I'm
going to ask a few questions, then if you
still wish, I'll culture you, and then I'll help you find the Newbie haven so
you can get to setting up your character. Any
questions to start with?'.
Coming to a complete stop, she nods and replies, "Well met, friend, and the day
goes well. How does it go for you?"
"Anor shines bright, the voices mingle as gold with the sounds of nature, and I
have a project in the making" Ereduinthil
says with a broad smile. "What more can I ask for? It seems a sweet tale told by
a bard." Bowing his head slightly, he looks
up towards the lady. "I am Ereduinthil, a carpenter in these woods."
"The day does indeed seem bright!" She smiles radiantly and then tilts her head
to the side. "You say you have a project in
the making?
"Indeed!" The carpenter says with a brightened expression. "A chair and a wine
rack. Both carved with beauty. Tilting his
head slightly, he gazes into the elleth's eyes. "Tell me, what craft do you
wield? Or are you perhaps a Bard? A Healer?"
Pursing his lips, he tilts his head slightly to the other side and hums softly.
"Certainly no Guard."
"Carved with beauty? One would hope so. I would hate for it to be carved with
anything else," she notes playfully. She then
laughs musically and returns his gaze, "No guard? You sound so sure. And why
not?"
Laughing out loud, Ereduinthil places his hand firmly against his belly. "Such
loveliness matched with wit." He says with
sincerity. "And no, I can not envision you as a guard, but I am bias, for I see
beauty such as yours for inspriation, not
for protection." Taking a deep breath, he lifts a brow and peers at Lostiriel
with curiosity in his eyes. "Tell me, what
trade holds your interest?"
Eyes sparkling, Lostiriel can't help but tease "Oh I see...beauty
inspires...protection? But it can't be its own protector?
Well I suppose beauty is inspired like art, and as such begs questions without
offering answers. Is that what you mean? Then
let beauty draw out danger and have someone else come defend it." She then
begins laughing fully like the ringing of bells,
and, finally, turning serious, she answers, "But you are right. I am no Guard.
Instead, my interests lie with the Royal
Court."
"Ah, a bard at heart with such words rendered." Ereduinthil chuckles as he takes
a step to her side. Pausing he hold his
head up slightly and turns to peer at the lady. "Royal Court? Ah, then perhaps
it is not a bard I hear in your words but
that of an ambassador in the making. Certainly the Lady Niinaeth will be
overjoyed in seeing you join the ranks of the Royal
Court."
Pausing, he lifts a hand with one finger extended. "Alas! Niinaeth is gone south
to visit with Curunir with the Tailor
Galharth. Instead, speak your words of interest to the Lady Galadriel and she
will induct you before you can change your
mind." With a softened smile he takes three full steps to circle Lostiriel's
form. "And should you choose to add a crafters
skill to the one that requires a silk tongue, please come see me."
Lostiriel laughs lightly and nods, "Before I change my mind? Why should I change
my mind?" She lifts her gaze to meet his
more fully and then smiles, asking "A crafter's skill? Perhaps..."
With eyes twinkling, and an upward curve of his lip, Ereduinthil peers towards
Lostiriel, "We could in fact use another
baker, or Wine maker. Certainly nothing that might interfer with the duties of a
Courier of the Royal Court." The curve of
his lip expands, to bring forth a full smile. "If you have the time, it's
something to think about."
Lostiriel nods and appears to consider his words. "Very well, I will think on
this. I would surely love to inspire beauty in
as many avenues as I am able." Slowly her lips begin curving more upwards, and
she asks, "Well surely you have more to do
that make wine racks and chairs with a silken tongue of your own?" She circles
him slowly and then comes to a stop, asking
"Do you perhaps inspire some beauty of your own?"
Ereduinthil blinks innocently as his hands spread outwards to add strength to
his next words. "Is not a chair such beauty
that lasts over the ages, certainly with my hammer...." he says patting his
toolbelt, "and tools, I might do the work that
the Bards perform, only mine is an art enjoyed by the eyes."
Chuckling softly, he looks towards the staircase. "I tease." He says with a
wink. "Go forth to the Royal Court and make your
intentions known, and then perhaps we two might share a glass of wine and a
pastry at the Mar, for certainly we shall meet
again." Taking a step along the pathway, he glances back. "Yest indeed, we will
meet again." And with that the Carpenter is
gone.
