Library
Though the library stands open to the elements, the shelves are free of dust and
the books are well-maintained. The selection here is small, expertly chosen to
aid the arnpand: guides for language lessons, history books and treatises on
negotiating with the races of Middle Earth. There are no chairs or desks, and a
rope bridge connects this flet to the eastern telain.

=====================================================================
The late morning sun cases a warm path into the Library of the Royal Court
Library. The dust of the ages coating the tomes and scrolls rise up into the
golden light, creating the appearance of dancing particles. Each time someone
moves through the halls, and when the breeze blows, these dust particles rise up
to dance then slowly resettle. The scent is old and stale, but is accented by
the scent of perfumed candles.
On this morning, the dust dances vigorously as the Tailor Galharth moves around
the library inspecting the tomes. "Amazing that so little has been done on this
matter...." He mutters aloud as he moves from one reference to the next.
The morning sun lights upon another figure, humming quietly, as she passes into
the library, her hair being infused with the warm beams of sunlight which tangle
in her long tresses, setting them afire as they glow golden in the brilliant
light. Grey-blue eyes falling on Galharth, Lostiriel's lips lift into a smile
and she calls a soft greeting, "Well met, Galharth." Now fully entering the
library, Lostiriel watches as Galharth moves about, clearly searching for
something, and her head tilts to the side, "Looking for something specific?"
With a tome in hand, Galharth looks up and towards the entrance, "Ah Lostiriel,
well met." Turning he uses the book in his hand as a pointer as he sweeps it
towards the shelves. "Do you recall that project we spoke of? The discussions
with edhel about their houses?" The dust caused by his sweeping motion circles
the ellon in a swirl, and he suddenly sneezes, sending more dust into the air.
Putting the book down and stepping away from the shelves, he waves his hand to
clear the dust around his face. "Well, I've been searching for previous work and
I've found almost nothing." Pinching his nose lightly to keep from sneezing
again, he steps a little further from the shelves. "Perhaps since you're here,
we can tackle a plan to gather up a well rounded reference. What you do say?"
"You've found almost nothing? Well, then, I say yes." Lostiriel reaches out to
touch a book, smudging off the gathering dust with her fingertips. Then, also
moving away from the rising dust, she grins. "Do you have any ideas as to how to
begin? I'm very interested in this project, but it does surprise me that there
is so little about it. What plan did you have in mind?"
"I've already spoken with several," Galharth admits, "but I've gotten very
little beyond the house colors and symbols for both Raavindonserke and Aderthad.
Folding his arms over his chest, the Tailor's brow furrows in thought. "Let us
get the basic's first. Definately we must gather House color's and symbol's as
I'll need them both for the flags in which I'll present. Perhaps foriegn policy,
a house history including geographaical origin, and perhaps a few linages."
Peering towards Lostiriel, he tilts his head. "Can you think of anything
further?"
Nodding as Galharth lists off the information required, Lostiriel pauses to
think of any further information that might be needed. "I should think that all
you mentioned would begin to form a pretty clear picture, and of course, once we
have that information we can fill in any gaps that present themselves... Really,
this should be quite exciting." Smiling, Lostiriel tilts her head to the side,
"And what about you, Galharth? Are you a member of a house?"
The corner of his mouth rises into a wiry smirk. "My house? Let us leave
ourselves out of this research as every good researcher knows not to cloud their
work with personal information." Galharth says as he unfolds his arms. Allowing
his arms to drop to his side, he draws his hands behind his back. Pacing forth a
few steps and back again to his original position, he sighs. "We've much to do,
and while I've spoken with a few, it would do well for you to speak with them
again. And we could both visit the house talan's as they often have individual
tomes filled with information."
Eyeing the Courier, he smiles. "Do you have a specific house that you'd like to
start with?"
Laughing, Lostiriel nods in agreement, "Very well, we shall leave ourselves out
of the reasearch and thereby avoid muddying the waters. And I'll begin speaking
with others, but I do think you are right, the house talans will have very
useful information." Eyes sparkling, she then continues, "And I should like to
start with my own house, as I would have great access to the information there,
if you do not think I'd be clouding the research too much? Because, as I am a
member of the House Laiquendi, I think I should make better headway in beginning
there."
Smiling warmly, the Tailor shakes his head. "I do not believe you will cloud the
research with your own opinions and thoughts." Galharth says firmly. "The
interview questions regarding foreign policy are what I am concerned with. It is
here that we could greatly impact the research."
Drawing his hands forward he claps them lightly, "So then, we now have a plan.
You'll start with Laiquendi, and I'll likely continue forth with Raavindonserke.
From there, we'll tackle the others." Taking a breath and releasing it slowly,
he looks towards the morning light pouring into the Library. "With that said, I
think the day is much too beautiful to waste it huddled in a dusty Library.
Shall we go forth to begin our task?"
Eyes gleaming brightly, Lostiriel turns her head to look out upon the sunlit
day. Her face softens and she nods, "I think you are right. The foreign policy
could prove to be most interesting, and most conflicting among the varying
houses. But as for this day, I am prepared to go forth and escape the dust that
forms in clouds here," she saying laughing, "And I suppose we shall just go
forward and then report back to each other as we gather more information?"
"I'd suggest a meeting once a week." Galharth says after a moment's thought.
"This way we can share our findings and perhaps get the information into a
tome." Taking a step along the sunny path towards the Hall of the Royal Court,
he glances towards Lostiriel. "When complete, we'll seek out the Lady and
perhaps arrange a council meeting so to present the book and house flags."
"Very well, I think that this should work out quite nicely. And I believe this
information could prove very valuable..." Lostiriel also begins walking away
from the library and toward the Hall of the Royal Court, "Good luck in your
research Galharth," she says to him, "And I can hardly wait to hear what you
discover!"
"And you Lostiriel, I look forward to your own discoveries as well." Galharth
says with a laugh. "I would say, see you next week, but I know full well that
I'll see you several times between now and then." With that the Tailor moves
into the Hall of the Royal Court and disappears on his own journey towards the
House talan's.
