My Aircraft
I first started with R/C in 2001.  I had a really good friend that had been flying for about a year at the time.  He told me all about how it works and the possibilities of playing around with R/C Aircraft.  After about a week of him talking about his stuff I knew that I had to get one.  So that Christmas I got myself a Hobbico Superstar trainer aircraft.  Three days later I took my first flight, and I haven't been able to stay away from it yet.
Over the last two years I have mostly trained myself in flying, except for the Taking off and Landing part.  I thought myself all the aerobatic maneuvers that I perform and I got help from some people at my flying field that taught me about optimal engine care, and best building techniques.  After I started flying I also joined the Aviation explorer club at Moffett Field, which I am now the president of.  At the club I learned then taught kids how to build and fly airplanes.  In fact, I am still currently teaching about four people how to fly.
When I teach people how to fly I begin with taking off and letting them do whatever they want just to get used to the airplane, using a buddy box. Then after they get used to it I teach them how to maintain level flight and to coordinated turns, how to use the controls properly.  Then I let them take off.  After a lot more flight time I let them do lots of approaches then land.

I highly recommend that you use this technique when learning or teaching how to fly.

Well that's my story, and I hope you enjoyed it.  Check out my section on tips, if I have created it yet....  And please leave some feedback in my Guestbook to let me know of any cool projects that you are working on.  Thanks!
