I decided to get a custom tailpipe after I bent the stock pipe by hanging it up on the trail one day, earning me JACKASS fame (see October Jackass 2000). Fortunately for me, I was planning to do this mod anyway, just not this soon since money was tight at the time. T-Nutz referred me to a local shop where he got his exhuast system installed with custom bent pipe. I asked the guy at the shop to inspect the whole system for damage and to call me before he did anything. He called a while later and said it was all ready to go and that he just put a new pipe on. That kinda pissed me off since the pipe only cost $50 and to get a Magnaflow muffler would have only added another $50. Now when I do decide to get the muffler, I'll have to get another new pipe with a larger diameter. I bet he didn't call cause he didn't have the right muffler in stock or he knew that I'd come back and have to spend more money. Oh well, fuck it, he did a good job and it didn't cost much.
It's nice not having to worry about hanging up my tailpipe anymore. The new pipe points out to the side and won't kick up dust on the trail like the stock pipe that points down. The chrome tip looks cool, but I don't think it will last long with my BFG's trowing rocks at it!!!! |
