CJ Tail Lights

Old School Flashers I had originally planned to get a set of Steel Horse Tail Light Guards to protect my tail lights. That idea changed one day when I saw a fat kid nearly rip the guard off from trying to use it as a step while getting out of T-Nutz. Those guards proved to be more for looks than function. Since I actually wheel my Jeep, I decided that I would have to find something else. I remembered seeing a guy with flush mounted round CJ lights on a TJ somewhere on the internet (I'll add the link here if I ever find it again). The lights looked bad ass!!! They also looked like there would be less of a chance that they would getting fucked up by a tree, or getting ripped off by fat kids stepping on them. I found these round lights at truck store for $8 each, which kicks ass. I thought about getting the LED's, but they're way more expensive and I don't really like the way they look. I installed the lights at the same time I installed the OYR corner guards, for install info click here. I also decided that it might look cool if I got some really small round orange lights to mount on the sides to serve as side marker lights. I ended up finding some rectangular amber lights at a semi truck store. I only had to drill a few small holes to mount them. The trim that holds the amber lens was chrome, and since I hate chrome I sanded them down and painted them black. Pics to come.......
Relocating the License Plate Since I dedided to go with flush mounted tail lights in the interest of keeping them from getting smashed by trees and fat kids, I figured that I might as well move the license plate too. Besides, if you ditch the stock tail lights, you've got to find a new way to light up the license plate anyway. I found a metal mounting bracket at the truck store, but i had to bend it 90 degrees so I could attach it to the bracket holding my backup light. I also found a LED license plate light that looks pretty cool and keeps me legal. Pics to come........
