Flutopia
is one of the leading woodwind choirs in the Northern Virginia area. This group consists of high school and college level musicians.  While the ensemble is primarily composed of flutists, we also have oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and saxophone. Flutopia performs in the Washington, D.C. area and just finished their first cd titled "Winter Winds." This ensemble is directed by Judith Lapple with assistant director Benjamin Williams.
Premiere Winds of Northern Virginia
is an outstanding woodwind ensemble which consists of middle school and high school level students. This group also performs in the Washington, D.C. area and recorded pieces on the Winter Winds cd. This ensemble is directed by Judith Lapple with assistant directors Tiffany Greco and Benjamin Williams.
About the Directors:
Judith Lapple is the founder of Flute1inc.  She attended the Eastman School of Music where she studied with James Galway.  Judith is the former principal flutist of the United States Air Force Band and Symphony Orchestra.  She has given clinics all over the world including MENC, ABA, TMEA, and VMEA conventions.  In 2000, she was selected for "Who's Who Among America's College Teachers." Currently, Judith is Professor of Flute and the Director of Chamber Ensembles at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.  She has soloed extensively throughout the United States.  She has performed in the Dorothy Chandelier Pavilion, Philadelphia Academy of Music, Eastman Theatre, DAR Constitution Hall, and the Kennedy Center. In addition, she has a large flute studio of high school students.  Many of her students are first chairs in their high school bands and orchestras, and participate in All-State Band, Bands of America, and the American Youth Philharmonic.

Benjamin Williams recently graduated from  the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland with a B.M. Instrumental Music Education and Bassoon Performance Certificate. He has studied with Phillip Kolker, prinicpal bassoonist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and Truman Harris-bassoonist in the National Symphony Orchestra.  Also, he has studied conducting techniques with Anthony Maiello, conductor of George Mason University Wind Ensemble. Mr. Williams assistant conducts Flutopia and Premiere Winds, as well as arranges music for the ensembles.

Tiffany Greco
has recently completed her first year at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.  A student of Judith Lapple, she is currently pursuing a B.M. Music Education degree with concentration in flute.  In her tenure at Broad Run High School she was the conductor of the Concert Band flute ensemble, and is now an assistant conductor of the Premiere Winds.
