If you have sequencing software, like Cakewalk,
you can mute the flute track (or one of the flute tracks, for the duet),
and have your own auto-accompaniment. If you don't have the sheet music
for these works, but you have notation software, like Finale,
you can import the MIDI file, and re-create the sheet music.
I spend a lot of time playing flute, so I thought you
might want to check out some links to groups I've played with, or check
out some links to flute-related (or otherwise interesting) places.
Follow these links below to visit or e-mail some interesting
places:
-
I used to be the Columbia
Concert Band webmistress. Oboist Sue Hassell has recently taken
over this responsibility, and has spruced up the web site considerably.
Please visit the band's home page.
-
I was selected as Flute List Member of the Week for June
28-July 4, 1999; my bio is on their web site, and can be
seen here.
-
I used to play flute with the Nashua
(NH) Flute Choir (1994-95). A good point of contact for the Nashua
Flute Choir (and also co-owner of Falls
House Press, a specialty publisher of flute music) is Linda True.
-
I used to play flute with the Longwood
Symphony Orchestra (LSO) in Boston (1994-95) (as well as do some desktop
publishing for them).
-
I used to play flute with the Herrenberg
Stadtorchester when I was living near Stuttgart (1988-92). I don't think
the orchestra has a homepage, but the town's homepage has a couple of pictures
of the town, and some interesting town information (wenn Sie Deutsch sprechen).
-
Larry
Krantz has a wonderful flute-related home page, with lists of flute
vendors, a stolen flute list, instructions for subscribing to the Flute
Mailing List, and lots of neat flute links.
-
Kristin
Ohlin has a neat flute page with lots of pictures from our concert/trip
to Washington, D.C. We visited the Dayton C. Miller flute collection at
the Library of Congress with the Indian
Hill Arts (MA) Flute Choir. I played with the IHA Flute Choir from
1993-95, under the wonderful direction of Rebecca Carson Rogers.

There's now an entire page devoted to "Judys
on the Internet". Since we are all "worthy of praise", perhaps you'd
like to visit some of the homepages of the other Judys out there on the
Web.
