Comment: How come ur guinea pig isn't as fat as mine?
Jenny's Answer: Well, on that front page, it took about 30 pictures before Olivia was happy with the pictures that made her look thinner. For guinea pigs, the camera adds one pound. Haha. Olivia is almost 3 years old, and she weighs a lot! Around 3 or 4 pounds. It all depends on the age of yours, and how much you feed it. A little fat is ok, but don't over do it. If your guinea pig has trouble getting around, then maybe you need to think about a diet. Re-Fill the bowl with plain seed-less pellets, a hand full of hay, and some baby carrots or lettace. But maybe it's not the food, they need tons of play time. They hate sitting in a cage all day. So let them out! Read the care page for more info!

Comment: Did you pierce your guinea pigs ear?
Jenny's Answer: NO! I did'nt do it! The breeder did! It's for shows in 4-H fairs. I would never want anyone to pierce their guinea pig's ears themselves! It's for only fair purposes. She was shown by the breeders daughter.

Question: How were guinea pigs made?
Jenny's Answer: Well, they are from Peru. And when people started to claim land in South America for Europe, they brought them home to the few rich people for pets. Or, yes sadly, food. People today eat them in South America. :(
Q: Do they make good pets? And do they bite?
A: Yes, they make awesome pets if they have awesome owners. Sadly a majority of guinea pig owners buy them thinking they are cute, fluffy, and easy to care for. They are work! (But they are always cute and fluffy!) Look at the care page for a slice of what it takes. I hope anyone who gets one knows they aren't cheap, and extremely easy to care for. And about the biting... No, they only bite when they are scared or think you are food. If you are good to them they will never bite. I have two and I have only been bitten once because she thought I was going to drop her. But it doesn't hurt. And they love to lick your hands. But sometimes there teeth get in the way! : )

Question: I was wondering can I learn about guinea pigs?
Answer: Well, you're in the right place! This is a very good start. You can also go to your local library to look at the many books they have. Or go to a book store. But beware! Some books could be old, or just not know what they are talking about. Just because it's in a book doesn't mean it's true. Such as, I've read guinea pigs like to play inside balls. But really they are scared. So if you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me!
