First, Marika is my first and oldest character. All thoughts and ideas made to create her are strictly for her and her alone. Now, I'm not saying that since she's an Elf that other people can't have Elves for characters. What I mean is her name (Marika Alexia LeFae), her parents, things like that are from HER life. I made her past to fit with her personality, her present is all her own, and her future is undetermined seeing as how we cannot predict the future.
Second, Marika is strictly non-NCP (non-playable character). Which means only I have the capability to Rp her. Lest some freak accident happens and I have to leave and it is absolutely important that the Rp session is finished right then you must ASK permission before even thinking of trying to Rp Marika, otherwise she is off limits.
Third, having to do with Vanya Oira Castle, previously Lyrian Castle. This castle was given to Marika (and only her) by her dear friend Ariraer Princeps when she had to make a sudden leave from Validon. To avoid confusion, it was suggested that I rename the castle so other Mun's would not think it was still Ariraer's. The castle was renamed Vanya Oira to reflect Marika's heart.
1) Vanya Oira is under mine and Marika's control, ONLY. Unless I should go on an LOA, Marika is in charge of the castle and the surrounding area. In other words, lest I should go on an LOA, there will be NO ONE else giving order's to Marika's guards OR servants. If a situation does come up where I need to go on an LOA I will appoint someone (IC and OOC) to watch over Vanya Oira. It is during only an LOA that I will do this, and only during that time that Marika may be NPCed by the one left in charge, depending on whether I give them permission.
2) Rooms and Their Servants: Ok, this is a touchy subject for me mainly because of the fact that I have seen people not following this rule. Before Marika was ever in charge of the castle, there was an OOC rule that stated, "Only the room owner may be in charge of the room�s servant." I really like this rule and will be keeping it just as it is stated. So, here it is in black and lavender: If your character is allowed to have their own room in Vanya Oira, there will be at least one servant in that room and only the owner of that room may use that servant. I'm not saying that you can't even ask permission to Rp the servant, just don't do it without asking first.
For example: Mina is one of Marika's room servants. If Marika asks Mina to deliver a message to another member of the house, that person IS allowed to reply back with Mina, but it must stay IC with how Mina acts and her personality (or as close as you can possibly get it). However, if they want to send a message to Marika, they must send their own servant; IF Mina was not sent first. They cannot just take Mina and start Rping her when I have no idea that it is going on. If the owner of each room keeps to their own servant, it should run smoothly.
Now, I don't mean to sound like I'm griping about this. But when there is already a servant for a specific room I find it unnecessary to use another room servant when theirs is standing right there. (Especially when Mina is with Marika and is fulfilling orders). The same goes for all other room servants. Their names WILL be added to another list, as well as their room assignment, to relieve any and all confusion as to which servants may be used.
3) Regular Servants: These servants are open for anyone to Rp. I give full permission to Rp them as long as they are not sent anywhere or do anything that I would not do to them. Yes, they can be sent to various places around the castle and outside, such as the courtyard or practice fields or even the city to fetch anything your character may need, just as long as they are not sent our of the city limits or to any other realms or elsewhere in Kal�Dor.
4) Kayvan: This is a very special character left behind when Ariraer left. He is the Head Guard at Vanya Oira and is not to be Rped at all without my consent. That means that you MUST ask permission before Rping him. If a situation occurs where I'm not online, go ahead and Rp him and just left me know through email or when you see me online, just as long as it is no more than showing your character around or taking them somewhere or delivering a brief message to another character. I will allow this as long as it is absolutely necessary for your SL. I will not scream and shout at you if you need to do that.
* However, I will not allow anyone having him leave Kal�Dor; that is his home and that is where he stays. * (Special permission MUST be given to have him leave Karibek.)
5) Marika: This is MY character, and as stated before, only I am to play her. There are absolutely NO acceptions to this. In the past I have given special permission to two people to NPC her whenever I am on an LOA. But from now on, I will be choosing only one person to do that, and that person will be chosen before my LOA. This will be someone who I feel is confident in not only the way I play Marika, but her personality. In other words, how she reacts to certain situations and to certain people. This is absolutely important and if is it necessary to have someone watch over her, I will take the proper precautions:
1) I will inform the person I wish to chose to watch over Marika during my LOA,
2) I will discuss the matter of NPC with this person and if they will watch over Marika,
3) Once the person is notified and accepts watching over Marika, I will make a post on the OOC comm to inform everyone of my LOA, as well as the person left in charge and that ONLY that person is allowed to NPC Marika during the duration of an LOA.
I know this rule is very detailed and very picky, but there are very good reasons that I have decided to do this. In fact, if I do not think anyone is capable of watching over Marika for me, then I will simply send her on a trip or just do work around Kal'Dor. We'll just have to wait and see.
6) Wards:
a) Wards are simply a magical protection against any unwanted danger, such as enemies, dark magic, battles, etc. They are almost always up at all times, day and night (lest someone is allowed entry.)
b) Power barriers are a special type of barrier created between Marika and Kayvan that wards off almost all unwanted danger. They cannot be broken by anyone or anything. For instance, if your character has the ability to try and use their emotions to break the seal of the power barrier your character would fail, but if it were a regular barrier, your character would succeed. There is a difference between these and I will explain this in more detail at a later time.
Important note: Only Marika and Kayvan have the ability to lift the barrier AND power barriers. Permission must be granted to have Kayvan lift the barriers and power barriers for any charachter. Special permission has been given to two people so far.
