| Mother of five month old Orian, Marika has lead an interesting life, to say the least. Her mother left when she was but an infant, having never met her. At the young age of 200 she lost her father, her best friend, in a matter of minutes to a cold-hearted murderer. It was only a matter of time before she found the guilty party and had him executed. Days after the execution she forever left her beloved home of Lorien and ventured into the lands of Rhydin. There, she built a new life. Several hundred years passed before she felt what it was to be in love. She met a young man, or what seemed to be a young man, named Reuven and fell in love with him. They spent several years together, planning to marry and take away the burden that had been bestowed upon Reuven. He was a Dark Angel and was not allowed to love or be loved, but he could not deny his heart. They kept their love as quiet as possible to throw off his Elders. But they still knew about he and Marika, so they gave him an ultimatum: either kill Marika, or die. They gave him a week to complete the task of killing Marika before they did anything else, but he refused to do so. He told Marika of what he was to do and that he could not complete the task, therefore he must die. But after hearing this, Marika refused to let him go and tried to keep him within the lands of Rhydin, so the Elders might not be able to use their powers against them. But they knew what he had told her, concluding that they both must die because he would not complete his duty, and that she knew of the Elder's world. Reuven was taken to the Elder's world and torchered, until Marika would arrive. They knew she would come for him, so they lured her to their world, a place she had never been and urged by Reuven to stay away from. Btu she refused to sit back and let them torcher Reuven in such ways. So she went there herself, determined to return to Rhydin with Reuven, alive. Once there, she found it difficult to tread across the barren swamps that rested upon the ground, but she went on until she finally the castle walls of the Elder's world. Having been told by Reuven, Marika remembered every word that came from his mouth of how to go through the maze of halls to find a secret passage to the dungeon. To her surprise, she saw no guards, no servants, not a single person as she walked carefully and quietly through the halls of castle. Hours had passed before she found the passage to the dungeon. As Reuven came into her sight, her eyes glistened with tears of joy that she had made it that far, but she could see his wounds from being torchered and worked quickly to release him from his cage and the chains that were attached to his wrists and ankles. It truly was a sad and awful sight, but she did her best to keep her emotions as closed as possible until they returned to Rhydin. Once out of the castle, they ran to the portal that Marika had traveled through. But with only a few feet to go guards and the Elder's stepped out in front of the two before they could reach the portal. It was then that Reuven finally spoke and told Marika to save herself. Ripped between returning safely and saving the man she intended to marry, Marika stood between the Reuven and the Elder's. She would have died before she let them touch Reuven. But as the Elder's made their move, Reuven quickly pushed Marika into the portal so that she might return to Rhydin unharmed. All that could be said was that they got him. Once back within Rhydin, Marika mourned for Reuven's life, finding it difficult to even leave her small cottage. But one night in a dream, she had a vision. She saw Reuven before her, but everything seemed so real that she could feel him. He told her that she could see him whenever she slept, that he was still alive, somewhere, but could no longer be found. Years passed before she was able to feel love for any other man. She met a man called Ryoku Ronin one night at a pub. Their meeting was full of conversation and getting to know one another, but they had to go their separate ways as the night passed. Several weeks passed before they saw each other again. But this time, it was in a land called Validon. Marika had left her cottage in Rhydin to find a new home, that new home was Karibek of Validon. Ryoku had also moved there, but to the continent of Ikym, where he built his Dojo. Ryoku was the man she would marry, for only a couple of weeks after seeing each other once more, he proposed and Marika accepted. Almost a year later, they had their first child; a baby boy named Orian. Marika has returned to the Kingdom in which she was raised as a Princess and has taken the throne of Kal'Dor. However, in recent events it has been determined that Ryoku would not be allowed to take the throne alongside her for he is not of Kal'Dor descent. She has been told to find a new King. |
