LINKS and ME!
So, due to the fact that I am absolutely obsessed with Pride and Prejudice (the 1995 A&E version), a great site to visit is pemberley.com.
Mr. Darcy is by far the most handsome man on the earth, as he is Colin Firth in real life.  The fact that my name is Elizabeth is also a plus.
My friends and I at Whitman created a club two years ago called Tri-Pi, in honor of
Pride and Prejudice.  We held showings of the 6-tape series as frequently as we could, given our busy schedules.  We had our last showing with almost all our members right before graduation this last year.  I own the soundtrack and have it almost memorized.  I promptly tell people which track number we are on during the film, especially #15, which is the one where Mr. Darcy takes a swim in his algae-infested lake and he has the unexpected, (half-dressed) meeting with Elizabeth and the orchestra hits a major chord!  I know, it's annoying, but I'm a music nerd, k?!!!
I also have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Chemistry, so I am very interested in the way policies are being implemented to control emissions and pollution.  Specifically, water quality and hazardous heavy metals in soils are the topics I want to pursue in graduate school.  A great news service for the environment is the Environmental News Service.  I also created an informative webpage on SMOG for my Environmental Chemistry class two years ago.  Take a look...it's pretty neat.
Speaking of being a music nerd, I love to play the flute and am sometimes suckered into playing the piccolo, especially for Aaron Copland pieces and the college musicals.  Piccolo is amusing, but shrill.  My goal is to play part of the Liebermann piccolo concerto in a recital sometime in the future.  Ha,ha,ha!  I'm insane!  In December, 2001 I won the college concerto competition on flute, so in the Fall of 2002, I got to play the Khachaturian concerto with the orchestra.  A bit nerve-wrecking, but definitely exciting!  The Khachaturian is very difficult, but I have a reputation for picking extremely hard pieces.  I like a challenge.  Life is boring without challenges.  A great comical flute quote site is located here.  Also, my favorite flute site of all time, that has everything a flute player would need is fluteworld.com.
Old movies are the best!  If you haven't seen many movies from the 1920's through the 1950's, you're missing a lot!  My favorites include:
*"Mr. Blandings Builds his Dreamhouse" with Cary Grant (*sigh*)

*"An American in Paris" with Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron and an all Gershwin score!

*"Funny Face" (ah, Audrey Hepburn and the unforgettable Fred Astaire)

*"Daddy Long-Legs" with Leslie Caron and Fred Astaire.

And many more...I'll have to think on this and then add to the list!  For a really awesome link to pictures of some of the greatest old movie stars, see
Silver Screen Sirens.
My latest craze is the "Lord of the Rings."  Legolas is cute, but I am definitely more of an Aragorn girl!  Dark and mysterious. *sigh*  However, Orlando Bloom has impressed my lately in "Pirates of the Caribbean"!!!
