About Me
This page is dedicated to me. Well, not dedicated, I'm not that brilliant. But it certainly gives you all a bit of an insight into me, the creator of this web page.
My name, as you may have guessed is Faye. My last name I'm not going to tell you, you can just have fun imagining ones up for me. I live in Australia in NSW in the Sydney region. My house is in a suburb, my backyard is average, there arn't many fields around me either. I'm 16 (18 now) years old, female and have at the moment 4 pets. A big ginger half-tom cat named Binx, a Border Collie cross (we think black retriever) half-girl named Beavus. And Minka and Tinka, my two comet goldfish which live in my room. Nope, I don't own any ducks. I used to own a Muscovey duckling named Charley which I bought home one day from a friend's farm (much to my parent's delight), but he caught a chest infection and died. I was annoyed at how much little information there is out on the web about duckling care. Of course it's helpful to have the facts, but recounts on personal experiences are infaluable- when it comes to knowing about any pet, not just ducks. I found the "General Waterfowl Forum" at the Poultry Connection a true goldmine for information like this. I went there often, listening to people's problems and asking my own questions about ducks. I was soon geared up to try again owning a duck, I had a wealth of information I had printed, scribbled down on paper, or just remembered, I felt confident that I knew what I was doing. My parents didn't feel the same way. They too had been reading up on some of the stuff I had, and came to the conclusion our backyard was too small for such a messy creature. My parents were never the smelly farmyard type. I still personally feel that with two ducks are yard would be fine, but it is my parent's house afterall, not mine. So, no more ducks for me till I leave home. I decided then to create this webpage, for parents and children alike who have ducks or ducklings "follow them home", or unexpectedly drop by and stay. Since this webpage I've weasled my way into having ten ducklings in my garage for 6 weeks as part of a school project. they've all grown up now and live happily on a big hobby farm. No more ducks as yet. Hmmm, so that's how I created my page, and a little about my past, now going back to me. I really like animals and dinosaurs, always have since year dot. When I've finished school I hope to go onto University and complete a course in either Zoology or Paleontology. My dream is to go to Africa and live in a mudhut in the middle of no-where. I'm English, was born there and lived there for seven years, in the south near London. I moved to America in Virginia for two years before heading back to England, this time near Manchester. I stayed there for roughly another two years before I moved to the South of France near Toulouse (yes, like the goose) then I moved out here another two years later. I've been in Australia for almost three years now and plan to stay. We move because of my dad's job. And.. that's about it about me.. oh wait!..
