Jakotsu

Name Shichinintai: Jakotsu

Age: uknown
Weapon: The simple name of his sword, Jakotsutou (snake bone sword) belies the great power behind it.
Quote: "Renkotsu-no-aniki, are you sure you don't like Inuyasha as well?" {volume 25} to Renkotsu
Special Features: Homosexual, loves men like Inuyasha and Miroku. Thinks that Sesshoumaru is a bit too stuck up and cold. Hates women. Is not very bright in general but is a strong fighter.
Description: The yukata he first appears wearing is a soft purple with a bold colored pattern interpreted as either flowers or leaves. He has a purple scarf wrapped around his shoulders and a dark fuschia sash wrapped around his waist. His second yukata is a bland yellow with teal flowers dotted wherever. The scarf is grey and the sash the same. His hairstyle is by no reguards feminine, the bun is no more girly than Bankotsu's braid or Miroku's little ponytail. His hair is wrapped around itself and then secured with a hair pin. Jakotsu's hair pin is decorated with butterflies, a symbol associated with being carefree, or having sexual meaning. The pin is painted bright colors of a pale blue, and the butterflies wear a heavy burgundy. He is not heavy with makeup, but it is noticeable that he wears a dark rougue on his lips and in some pictures you can see he wears a gentle mascara barely green.
Love:
Inuyasha His main love throughout the story, the passion Jakotsu feels for him grows almost to an obsession by his death. Type-wise, Inuyasha is everything Jakotsu loves: naivety, bluntness.. Inuyasha is his dream come true. Every time they met, whether directly or not, Jakotsu has always cheered that he has seen his hanyou again. However his sadistic desire to see Inuyasha cut up and mutilated is always put off until when Jakotsu fights him for the last time. Inuyasha defeats him (of course, he's the main chara) but before his death Jakotsu swore that "of all the guys I've killed, I loved you the most!" Moreover, from watching the anime, Inuyasha finds that he didn't finish Jakotsu (as he thought he did in the manga). "Please finish me. If anyone, I want it to be you," Jakotsu said to Inuyasha. When Inuyasha refuses to, despite Jakotsu's warning he might come back again, Jakotsu's eyes take on a moist shine reflecting his unrequited love. Jakotsu and Inuyasha are incompatible for obvious reasons: Inuyasha is dead straight. Moreover, Inuyasha thinks of Jakotsu as moron, and basically dislikes him altogether. It's a one-way rabu.
Miroku Jakotsu commented upon their first meeting that Miroku was sexy. Other than that, Jakotsu has never really said anything else, or expressed a desire to see Miroku again. Chances are, Jakotsu has had a guy like Miroku before. X3!
Sesshoumaru Sesshoumaru never really appealed to Jakotsu's tastes. He thought of Sesshoumaru to be a little too cold-looking and serious, and even when face to face Jakotsu still didn't really express any desire for him. Even though he called him "sexy-looking guy" up close, Sesshoumaru just isn't his type of guy. It seems that Jakotsu likes to be the dominant one in relationships, as he always picks cute or naive boys as his infatuations.
Kouga There could have been something appealing to Jakotsu about Kouga, but somehow he just wasn't his type of guy. He thought Kouga's wolf-hide slung around his hips to be somewhat appealing, and that Kouga's looks are enough, but something never really clicked for Jakotsu.
Bankotsu Evidence directly supporting this couple's attraction are not much in the manga, but if you look at how the two react, there is a possibility that there was something between them. Especially if you read into things too much, as many people and I do. The fact that Jakotsu checks out every guy he meets suggests he did the same to Bankotsu. Judging the way the two are always so close together (the two sitting together drinking sake, or just having a conversation) implies a past, or even continueing relationship. Reguarding whether Bankotsu felt anything for Jakotsu is when Bankotsu learned that Jakotsu had died. His expression was so sad, it's an expression readers had never seen before, and only seen again when Bankotsu's own death occured. Well, for obvious reasons we saw the expression again when Bankotsu died. Interactions between the two suggest Bankotsu to be more "domininant" than Jakotsu. Because Bankotsu is the leader of the Shichinin-tai group, a certain amount of respect is demanded, and because Bankotsu tends to be a bit more "energetic" than Jakotsu, perhaps because of his younger age. Moreover, Bankotsu always starts the conversations between the two.
