The FLPW was founded in 1997 in order to supply an expression of outrage over the continuous denial of opportunities to real women professional wrestlers of the past, present, and future to compete on major promotional levels. Since the WWF and WCW, the WCW more so, have snubbed and/or underpromoted women's pro wrestling, we have responded by establishing the Fantasy Ladies Pro Wrestling promotion.
This promotion's roster is composed of real woman wrestlers of the past and present from major and minor promotions, along with an assortment of fictional characters. They face off in matches, wrestle for belts, pay-per-view events, the whole nine yards. This promotion goes in areas that real promotions, men's and women's, past and present, have not dared to tread. Recently, the FLPW just had its first ever women's ladder match. Now this promotion has introduced inter-federation competition with the women of our brother promotion, the FMPW. All of the women who compete in matches on on the FMPW's Independet Women's roster are eligible to wrestle in matches here, and are all contenders for all of the FLPW's Championships.
