R.I.P. Nukie, My best friend.
1993-2002
NUKIE

I call him Nukie
He's the color of snow
Wherever life takes him
He's raring to go

He makes no judgements
No assumptions, knows no fears
And he always is begging
For a little scratch behind the ears

He brings a great feeling
To my heart and my soul
An unconditional love
He lifts my spirits when they're low

He can only give love
He knows no other way
I learn so much from my dog
Each and every day

He understands me
In ways I do not know
He knows how I'm feeling
When I don't think it shows

He's always with me
Inside where it counts
And I know it's his love
That I'll never be without

So I'll do my best
To make his life happy
In any way I can
Even writing poems that are sappy

It's the least I can do
When he gives so much
There's a place in our hearts
Only a good dog can touch

I'll try my hardest
To learn from his ways
He makes me a better person
What more can I say

I call him Nukie
He thinks he's a person
I'll let him believe that
'cause he'd be a good one for certain
