| This innovative six-part teaching method combines the joys of creating with the joys of learning, while encouraging each student to discover his or her own creative style. Lessons are introduced with art-historical orientations which include vocabulary, brainstorming, and demonstrations of techniques and materials. Students discover the possibilities of different creative decisions and are encouraged to be creative and take artistic risks. They learn how to discuss art through peer to peer critiques and public exhibitions. |

| This six-part method offers consistency in the learning process and results in confident, creative teens. Each class offers art-historical context which gives students an awareness of artistic tradition while offering inspiration that adds meaning to their own work. Art vocabulary reinforces the proper art terms, brainstorming gives the students an opportunity to learn to use the new vocabulary while discussing their ideas and projects. Demonstrations of materials and some suggested techniques motivate students to experiment with thier own ideas during the hands on artmaking part of the lesson. Studio One offers curricula for teens that are geared to individuals wants and needs. All lessons encourage individual style and creativity. Students spend the majority of each class making art and exploring the possibilities of their own creative choices. Every student will have the opportunity and be encouraged to exhibit a work of art at a public venue. These are very meaningful events for students, giving them lasting confidence in their abilities.
