ABSTRACT.--During 1997-2000, I searched for 11White-bearded Manakin (Manacus manacus) leks studied by Snow (1958-1961) and Lill (1967-1971) in the lower Arima Valley of Trinidad. Four of the leks described by Snow and one by Lill were found in precisely the locations indicated by these authors 29-42 yrs ago. Actively displaying males and visiting females attended each of these leks. However, two leks appear affected by a dissolution process. Of the six leks not found, habitat alteration by humans appeared responsible for the abandonment of three; the factors responsible for the demise of the remaining leks remain unknown. All surviving leks occur in areas distant from human activities, suggesting that leks will persist indefinitely in the absence of any significant disturbance. RESUMEN.--Durante 1997-2000, se buscaron 11 leks del Saltar�n Maraquero (Manacus manacus) estudiados por Snow (1958-1961) y Lill (1967-1971) en el Valle del bajo Arima en Trinidad. Se encontraron cuatro de los leks descritos por Snow y uno por Lill ubicados precisamente en las localidades indicadas por los autores hace 29-42 a�os. Cada lek fue asistido por machos desplegando activamente y hembras visitantes. Sin embargo, dos de los leks parece que fueron afectados por un proceso de disoluci�n. De los seis leks no encontrados, la alteraci�n del h�bitat pareci� ser responsable por el abandono de tres; los factores responsables para el fallecimiento de los otros leks son desconocidos. Los leks que sobrevivieron se encuentran en zonas distantes de las actividades humanas y esto sugiere que los leks persistir�n indefinidamente en la ausencia de alg�n disturbio significativo.
