Resumen.--Se describe el primer registro de Limosa limosa, un migrante del Pale�rtico, para Am�rica del Sur. La ave, un ad�lto de plumaje b�sico probablemente de la raza nomina, fue observado y fotografiado en los arrozales de Caroni y luego por las playas barrosas entre Orange Valley y Waterloo, Trinidad, desde el 14 de septiembre de 2000 hasta el 21 de enero de 2001. El registro previo m�s cercano fue de St. Christopher en las Antillas Menores en el 1988.
Abstract [unpublished English translation].--We describe the first record of Limosa limosa, a Palearctic migrant, for South America. The bird, a basic plumaged adult probably of the nominate race, was observed and photographed in the rice fields of Caroni and later on mudflats between Orange Valley and Waterloo, Trinidad, from 14 September 2000 to 21 January 2001. The nearest previous record was from St. Christopher in the Lesser Antilles in 1988. |
