Abstract.--Observations of intraspecific kleptoparasitism and aggression over food are reported in captive Midland Painted Turtles (Chyrsemys picta marginata) for the first time, and compared with similar observations in other species of aquatic turtles. To what extent (if any) thiese behaviors occur in wild populations of turtles remains unknown. |
