In 1998, I started doing Genealogy on my dads side of my family. I stopped for a long time and then started again in 2004. I also built my family tree on Ancestry.com and submitted it to the Internet. If you build your family tree and submit it to the Internet, they wont show the first names of the people who are still living (even though you type their first and last names when you build your family tree before putting it on the Internet). After you build your family tree, you can submit it to the Internet and when other people view it they will see the names of your living relatives like this:
"Living (Whatever their last name was when they were born)"
I think it's kewl that they do it like that, so you wont have to worry about your living relatives names being posted on the Internet for just anyone to see.
If you want to build your family tree and then submit it to the Internet, go to http://www.ancestry.com and click the "Family Trees" tab. Near the bottom right of the page, you will see a link that says "Start a family tree". That will take you to step 1 (out of 4) where you can type your family information.
If you started to build your family tree online, but haven't been able to find it since they made the changes, you can find it here. It took me a long time to find this. Make sure, you're logged in (to the right name, if you have more than one account) and scroll down all the way to the bottom of the page, otherwise you won't see your tree(s).
