SLOTH
Sloth is only being unwilling to get up in the morning or resenting the fact of having to go to work. Its a natural feeling to not want to do something against your own will or to be held to obligations when youd rather be doing something else like sleeping, reading a book or doing a favoured hobby. If anyone tells you sloth is wrong, tell them they are a hypocrite, for everyone is "guilty" of sloth. Anyone who is not would indeed be an odd creature to be around!

Sloth is an aversion to exert yourself; laziness; indolence. Its not just not preffering to do something, its avoiding asserting themselves. Its calling in to work just because you dont feel like it. Its feigning ignorance to automobiles, that you will have an excuse to not help someone with car trouble. Its faking an injury so as to have someone wait on you. Most importantly, its not pulling your own weight. A slothful man will judge if there is anything in it for him before leaving his house when someone is in need. A slothful man brags about past deeds hes done, that he may use them to get out of doing present ones. Sloth, though overlooked, is probably one of the most disasterous acts. If you are lazy you will do little or nothing to fight off what is wrong or to fight off wrong influences. If you take sloth or laziness to nonchalontly, you will not care what the world around you is going through and will not fight off all of the previous harmful acts. Sloth is indifference. He who is indifferent doesnt care what goes on around him. Sloth is a sin that says, Thats not my problem! It is a sin that believes in nothing, cares for nothing, seeks to know nothing, interferes with nothing, enjoys nothing, loves nothing, hates nothing, finds purpose in nothing, lives for nothing, and only remains alive because there is nothing it would die for. A German pastor, who survived imprisonment of the Nazis in WWII, Martin Niemoeller
said something on the subject of indifference that intrigued me. "First they came for the communists, but I was not a communist-so I said nothing. Then they came for the social democrats, but I was not a social democrat-so I did nothing. Then they came for the trade unionists, but I was not a trade unionist-so I did little. And then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew-so I did nothing. Then they came for me, and there was no one left who could stand up for me." This is the effects of indifference; sloth.
Lets see what it says in the Holy Bible, my Heavenly Fathers letter to us, his children. ------>
Prov. 19:15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.  You see, it speaks of the effects of laziness here. A lazy man will not work for his bread and will find out later the price is hunger. This proverb explains another. Prov. 19:24 A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again. Why wont he bring it to his mouth again? You guessed it, because there is no food in it. He suffers hunger, and not just of the belly. He glutted himself on what he wants to do- have fun, or sometimes with riotous living. Eventually the food runs out and there is no need to put his own hand to his mouth. What is the reaction to the sloth to this? According to Prov. 19:15, he goes to sleep instead of dealing with the situation. I Tim. But if any not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. Prov. 15:19 The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain. His way is a hedge of thorns because he does not want any to get close, for fear they may know his true intentions. The way is plain because there is no guile in him, all paths are made clear, for he has nothing to hide. The decietful ways of the sloth will tell you one thing, but do another, and you feel the prick of the thorn. You eventually learn that you cant trust what he says. In this parable, Jesus asked, Mat 21:28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, today go work in my vinyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? The sloth is even easy food for the lion. If there is danger lurking, the sloth coes not care enough to do anything. Just simply says, So Ill be killed by it. Prov. 22:13 The slothful man saith, there is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.
