God, the creator of the universe, made a virgin (but was still a sinner just like you or me) to be pregnant with God the Son (who is the second person of the *trinity, was always in exsistance, but not in flesh). When God the Son was born into this world an angel came from heaven and told them (Mary and her husband Joseph) His name would be Jesus. Jesus was fortold thousands of years before that He would save mankind from his sins. He grew up uneducated, but He recited the scriptures better than any scholar or priest around before he was ten years of age. This baffled the scribes and scholars because they did not know who he was. In Jesus' early thirties a His cousin, who was called John the Baptist, was preaching in the river for all to "Repent of your sins and be baptised! For one will soon come whom I am not worthy to unloose his sandals!" When Jesus heard of this, he went to the river Jordan (where John was). When John saw Him he declared, "Behold! The Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world!" Jesus went up to him and asked that He may be baptised, but John hesitated saying, "It is I who should be baptised by you!". But he did as He asked. When He came up from the water the Spirit of God came down upon Him and a voice was loudly heard in the sky, "Behold, my son. In whom I am well pleased!" It was then Jesus went into the desert to be tempted by the devil. Satan tempted Jesus to turn stones into bread, to summon angels to catch Him after jumping from a ledge and to worship him, but Jesus quoted the scriptures to him and he fled. Jesus went out and gathered men to follow Him and watch Him. Fishermen, tax collectors and the like. He did many miracles in the presence of hundreds and thousands of people. He commanded the seas to calm from their rage, fed thousands with a handfull of food (and had plenty leftover), caused so many fish to be caught that the nets broke, healed the crippled, gave sight to the blind, made the deaf to hear and cast demons from the possesed. Jesus sat with His friends for a meal and told them one of them would betray Him (for the priests all hated Him because He called Himself God and pointed out their hypocricies) He looked to one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, and told him, "Go and do it quickly." . At night when Jesus was with His disciples, He prayed to His Father while they slept. He asked God the Father that if there were any other way to do it that the cup might be taken from Him, but that The Fathers will be done and not His (for He was also a man). At this distress he sweat great drops of blood (which is a rare condition that happens only under the most terrible forms of grief). Judas then showed up with soldiers to take Jesus away. Jesus ordered His friends to not fight for Him, saying, "Do you not think that if I so desired, I could command a fleet of angels to fight for me?" So they arrested Him. They gave Him a trial but found no fault in Him. They asked the people if they would like Him to be let go or Barabas (a murderer) and they said Barabas. They asked what they would have them do with Jesus and they said crucify Him. They had him whipped almost to death hoping it would satisfy the peoples want for the innocent mans death, but it didnt. They crucified Him and before He died He cried, "It is finished!" Meaning that the price for the peoples sins had been paid. Then He died and they put Him inside a tomb surrounded by guards. Three days later He rose from the dead and showed Himself before over 500 witnesses including His disciples. Then He ascended to heaven in His body. As His disciples stared into the sky after He had gone up and angel came to them and told them, "Why are you staring into the sky? One day he will come back in the same manner as He left."
Soon Jesus will come back. After the last person who will be saved is saved He will come back and take unto Him those who are saved, living and dead. Then the world will be controlled by satan for 7 years before Jesus comes again to throw death and hell into the lake of fire. Then the judgment of mankind will occur. Those who accepted His salvation will be saved and those who did not will be cast into hell forever and ever. |
