| So, you think that Christians do horrible things? You think that they're hypocrites? ... your right. Suprised? Don't be. People have done terrible things in the name of Christanity, it's true. However, you should never tell a belief by those who practice it. But look at the beliefs themselves. The bible is not hypocritical (and you can hold that to me), but there are those who have built their belief system and not gone according to the bible, making hypocrisies with their own systems. Of these, maybe the worst, is the Catholic religion. Their doctrine contradicts the bible and even does what is spoken of as sin and lauding it. For instance, the bibles 2nd commandment says to not make idols and to not bow down, worship or serve them. The Catholics make idols of many, many things, like Jesus, Mary and the apostles. They also worship Mary as a co-mediator between God and themselves, but Christ says that HE is the way the truth and the life and only by him can anyone go to God. ONLY HIM! The bible also says to do no murder, yet the Catholics are responsible for many millions of of deaths during the spanish inquisitions. What terrible things can you attribute to the actual bible? Nothing. There are many horrendous acts performed by so-called "christians" and they could never have a case that it is biblically accurate. ANYONE who says that it was Gods will to murder a person (premeditated, not war casualties or accidental murder) cannot be doing Gods will (thou shalt not kill). DO NOT BE CONFUSED, there are many, many people who go by the term "Christian" and have beliefs that are very unbiblical. I would like to note this also; all things that you might have against actual biblical principals is only because you do not take into fact that God is omniscient (all knowing) and while you may not think that something is expediant, God knows the secret things of life and is FAR more qualified to judge what is right to do. So, am I saying that Christians who believe and follow the bible dont do things that are wrong? Absolutely not! Christians get violent, they lust after those who are not their spouse, they lie, they do all manner of things unbiblical and hypocritical. The only thing different about a christian is that they have the Holy Spirit which convicts them to try their best not to do these things. Remember that if you see or hear about a christian doing something wrong, they're still human. But as I said before, if one is doing something that is terrible (like the above mentioned) and claiming that it is God ordained then they are heretics and are not going according to scripture. |
